I’ll quit watching IU if they hire this guy. Scott won’t consider him thankfully.

He's a significant upgrade over Archie Miller. He wins a lot of games and has built a great thing at a football school with little basketball history. Imagine what he could do at IU.

In 18 years he’s been two the elite eight twice. That’s not good.

He has a top recruit coming in next year. Why would he come here? He loves Waco. He’s religious and Bloomington is about as non religious as one could get.

We've got Brother Jed, isn't that religious enough to make Bloomington religious?! Lol.

I get the concerns about him and he probably wouldn't want to leave Baylor, but money talks. Make him turn down a giant contract. If he turns it down he turns it down, but at least make him do it. Two elite eights at a school that went to two elite eights in school history before him isn't terrible. His first four years were terrible. In the 14 years since then, he's made 9 out of 13 tournaments (last year would've made it 10 in 14 years). In two of those other years, he won the NIT once and finished runner up once. I think he'd do very well here. Even if he only replicated his Baylor results, it would be a massive improvement over our previous 14 years.

This is my top choice. And I'm not even sure where to say this but man people really let the Stevens talk consume them to a point that now that a candidate which everyone agreed 4 days ago was a pipe dream said no that it's game over lol. We have imo a very stellar list of potential candidates. I admit I started buying the hype too but in the back of my mind I knew there was a good chance it was fantasy. Let's go get Drew

Drew is my #3 behind Wright and Stevens. Since Wright isn't even being mentioned as a candidate, he's closer to #2.

I like Wright and how his teams play.  I would make him the same offer made to Stevens in a heartbeat.  He's an east coast urban big city guy, which is probably the biggest hurdle...sorry Bloomington.  But he can obviously recruit, coach, win.  You make the ask/offer and see what he says.

The whole he turned down UCLA for double the salary makes him a long shot but I agree. If you take away Indiana ties from BS (which the masshole Patriots fan basically renounced) he has as good if not better credentials for the job.

Even after he kept an assistant on staff for years after threatening to have a high school aged Hanner Perea deported back to Colombia if he didn’t choose Baylor?

Doyle has already stated expect him to go after IU and Drew if he is hired. So plenty of negative press locally that should do wonders for recruiting of Drew is the guy.

Question would be, could he overcome the early negative press and be successful at IU?

I've answered this before. Probably buried in what became the Stevens thread?? If shadiness during recruiting battles is a disqualifier then we probably don't have any candidates. Maybe he learned from that because he really hasn't had much else that I recall. Also he knows a thing or 2 about bad press. He got the Baylor job after a player killed another player. That's about as dark as it gets for a coach to walk in to. I just really think he could come in right away and build a winner. He's proven he can recruit at a high level.

Think his defense’s are good enough? He clearly knows offense.

You would quit watching if it’s several people it seems. Why not support the new coach whoever it is until they have proven they can’t get the job done?

I’d only quit watching if it was this bozo, Alford, or Mussleman. So that’s not too bad honestly.

And frankly, Scott shouldn’t deserve a consideration. Dolson knows the details. I imagine Scott won’t even consider him.

That would be my concern however he has shown the willingness to change schemes on defense throughout his career. That's something I guess

Odd vendettas. Either you have a LOT more information than the dedicated fan or you hold on to a grudge better than the most scorned significant other.

Drew and Mussleman are 2 of the best “available” candidates out there right now.

You’re dedication to Archie when the results remained dismal and players didn’t like him is interesting to say the least. Not easy to figure you out. Winning doesn’t appear to be your driving factor. And I guess claiming moral superiority sounds great, but what do we really know about the college basketball landscape. 2 sides to all stories.

I think Scott Dolson does know the details so if Drew is considered then perhaps there is more to the story.  Not my top guy but I suspect we move through some top guys quickly and he is definitely ahead of some others
