With the understanding that I have little credibility here, debated for the past few days about sharing this outside of a few through DMs.  But here goes:

A longtime friend and colleague of Brad’s told me over the weekend that BS will not be the next coach.  Was this an exact quote from Brad?  He didn’t say that, (and didn’t say it wasn’t) but left no room for doubt.

Post this due to some fans thinking BS is toying with the fan base/dragging this out/is letting his daughter decide (!) and turn against him based on untruths.

The sooner fans can let go of Brad,  then it allows folks to get excited about the next great coach waiting in the wings.

Appreciate this. The Brad Stevens dream died about this time 4 years ago and don’t believe it ever got past anything than an obligatory phone call back in February.

Crazy times when gifs and encrypted messages outweighs optics and common sense.

I edited my post... Fran didn't even make a Sw16.

We've made... 4?

Iowa isn't close to us. If you feel they are, that's fine, too.

Fact. But also better overall and in conference. Consider that part equal, record-wise.

But the turmoil of the Indiana program and the job that goes with it is the primary perception that most people have about Indiana basketball. Poorly managed, dramatic, and rabid. It's completely reasonable we would be competing for up and coming coaches with Iowa, particularly when the candidate in question has roots in Iowa City. It's not unfathomable that we are not exactly the cream of the crop compared to the rest of the conference in terms of desirability. The only thing setting us apart anymore is the money.

And no, I will not employ the Randy Savage cream gif here.

It feels like they just feed Rabby misinformation to throw everyone off the scent and he takes the bait every time. That, or he's in cahoots with the program to assist them with the hiring process and contract negotiations by throwing out silly b.s.

Not necessarily a better job, but a better program at this juncture.

He said Iowa, not Iowa State. Hawks are a disaster

I just don't think any of Rabby's information comes from the IU side, so he's passing along info from agent circles.

What a massive failure if this is who Indiana ends up with. So many proven winners that would take the job

You massively overrate this job. DeVries is an excellent coach. I don't believe it's him, but if it is I'll be happy. Proven track record, can recruit talent, has elevated the program wherever he's gone. And has a cool name. Maybe not an A+ hire but I'd give it a solid B. Certainly raises the floor immediately at IU. Who knows what the ceiling would be, as he's not been at a high major program long enough to establish a tournament résumé.

Our next coach...

Just what we need... another ex-NBA coach with ZERO college experience. His NBA record is on par with the Wizard of Broad Ripple... hard pass

Careful my friend, you’re gonna have insiders threatening to leave the board.

I think Rabjohns burned some bridges with the school during Woodson's tenure too.  If I were the AD, I would cut quite a bit of the access to the guys who have to make a living off Indiana sports clicks.  I think that Woodson was an @$$ and deserving of all the criticism, but if you are the school you can't have all the parasite sites bad mouthing your coach and frankly I think those sites are more useful when they aren't a mouthpiece for the school.

The Hoosier Hysterics would be DOA if I were Dolson too.
