Surely we could buy out Jay Wrights tv contract……throw the kitchen sink at that guy….maybe he has the itch again……I’ll take his resume over anyone on the list after Steven’s….at minimum make contact and see if there is interest…..before we get to Brownell

Efficiency is the biggest issue. Play style dictates the margin for error, more so if your defense sucks.

That said, get me a guy who can teach kids to put the clamps on people. There's nothing better than seeing an opponent realize the pillow isn't coming off their face until 40 minutes have passed.

I was neutral on hiring Beard.  IU was going to do their due diligence. If he was vetted, and they decided to hire him great.  If they have enough dirt that they weren’t willing to take the risk, I was ok with also.  I figured it was a long shot as IU seems to be fairly risk adverse.

That’s a different point. Not leaving for another power conference team (which does happen but regardless) isn’t bc the coaches are scared fans will turn on them

He’s on my short list for sure, but I just don’t see it occurring as he seems pretty happy in his current position. However, with revenue sharing and pretty good NIL at Indiana, maybe that take some of the stress of his shoulders in returning. 

I’d consider Wright a home-run hire, he’s in the Brad Stevens category.

Does this mean UT gets all the credit for firing him but none of the shame for hiring him in the first place? I smell BS on this guy's info.

While I would try my darnedest to support Brownell, I just can’t see that happening if Dolson is truly committed to resurrecting the basketball program. Nothing speaks mediocre like hiring Brownell. ONLY reason he is being considered is because he’s from Indiana and has some ties. That’s it. 
 

Give me McCollum or Shertz (can’t remember if that’s how you spell his last name) all day long over Brownell because there is at least potential there. With Brownell we would make the tournament probably every other year and almost no success in the tournament. That’s nothing close to what IU is truly about, even with the last 25 years. 
 

Give me Wade and Beard over Brownell. If you can’t tell, I don’t want Brownell at all lol. I’m tired of supporting a broken program that should be elite.

I like reading the rumors & such, but not sure the insiders here have been right at calling any big news, but maybe I’ve just missed it.  I’d LOVE to be proven wrong, but I’ll bet dollars to dimes we’re not getting a tier 1 guy….maybe not even tier 2.  

I have been here lol.  ‘Insiders’ is probably the wrong word.  They are not calling themselves ‘insiders’.  There are just people on here that have connections the rest of us don’t.  They have shared what they were hearing.  For whatever reasons, what they were hearing didn’t come to be true.  They were the first ones to come back and say they were sorry that what they were told and passed along ended up being wrong.

That’s what makes this so fun and exciting right?  We all love IU basketball.  You think we are not getting a tier 1 guy.  That’s cool and I understand why you think that.  

My personal opinion is that we are getting a tier 1 guy.  But it’s just one that I think fits.

Texas hired Sarkisian, a known drunk with his own marital issues. I don’t think Texas cared until Beard made it their problem.
