I've been holding off, and will continue to do so. This might have even been a joke.

But, hypothetically; I think his current basketball resume would make him a hire on par with Louisville hiring Pitino in 2001, UNC hiring Roy Williams in 2003 and UK hiring Calipari in 2009 as the three most significant college coaching hires of the last 25 years.

My current list of legitimate candidates:

  • Drew
  • Otz
  • Collins
  • Schertz
  • McCasland
  • Cronin
  • Huss
  • McCollum
  • McDermott
  • Brownell

I'm willing to state that I think it is likely we will have one of those ten guys as the next coach at IU. Based on what I have heard (including things not on the open board) and in no particular order, that's my list.

Brother...I've discussed ad nauseum who I think are realistic options and who I think we succeed/fail here.

If you're exhausted with people asking who you would like as the coach or who you think will succeed/fail what do you truly want? The question led down the path to what you wanted to do...discuss your coaching ideas and options.

He doesn't want to talk about Brad Stevens and also doesn't want to talk about anyone else. Otherwise he's all sunshine.

If we're not going to hire Will Wade, Mick Cronin is without a doubt my #1. You aren't going to get another candidate with the qualifications of Cronin to come take this job. I've been pushing Cronin...on this thread...for nearly a month.

If Otzelberger or Drew have a change of heart and want a change of scenery, I'd be thrilled. Will root for either to happen but not holding my breath.

But if you end up hiring Brownell, McCollum, etc....we'll be doing this in 4 years again.

You've literally lost your mind. I've pumped close to 200 posts, maybe more, in support of Cronin and I was suspended from posting for two weeks in February.

My stance on who I want as a coach has been clear since the end of January. And I've made it known. Multiple times.

Cronin is a high floor/low ceiling guy. He'd be fine. Better than we've had. But he won't make adjustments when things go wrong, his teams will be mediocre on offense, and he will wear on people.

Had Creighton taken a step back without him, the assoc HC title might mean more to me personally, but GM doesn’t seem to have missed a beat without him. JMO. 

Why would Cronin and Brownell be in the same category? One guy goes to the tournament every year and the other one goes 33% of the time.

Ok? He makes the tournament and competes for conference titles nearly every year. If that's what the next 8-10 years look like, sign me up.

I know, and I understand the frustration, but not everyone is on here 24/7 and can't remember everyone takes on specific coaches. I remember now that you like Cronin but I had forgotten. When I saw you get all over someone for asking who you like it just seemed a little counterproductive to what you were asking for earlier...

didnt take me 200 posts to give my opinion on him.  Took me one and I did it without telling everyone else what to post.
