If things fall apart with a couple of others I think he would be a solid get. Thanks he is definitely a hire that would make me react differently than the last 2 that's for sure! The same goes for Cronin or Buzz. I would fall out of my chair if a guy(Stevens, Drew, Dusty, pearl or Otz ) was the hire . BUT I would certainly be intrigued and think there would be some pretty immediate improvements and floor raised. Just about anyone else might make me beat my head against the wall. Chris007 1

They've made a big investment in a core group of players (Rice, Carlyle, Malik & Mgbako). They'd like to see that group return to maintain continuity and not have a total rebuild. This is why it has been mentioned by candidates that will they have full control. I know that was an assurance Brad was asking about. Donors donate money but they have no say in who is on the team or who plays or who comes back. No one goes to their businesses and tells them who to fire or where to place their workers. Probably not a lot maybe however someone like me who has watched them a lot could name every starter from the Elite 8 team. That team was loaded. Ryan Kalkbrenner, Trey Alexander, Arthur Kaluma, Ryan nembhard, and Baylor Shierirman. Lost by 1 in the Elite 8 and Kaluma and nembhard decide to enter the transfer portal. They could have ran an elite 8 team back and those kids left for more money. Mason miller was on that team as well who McDermott beat out Miller for his commitment. He can coach. Only thing is his name gets brought up every year as someone who could move on from Creighton but never does OKHOOSIER, thebigweave, Ryno6284 and 4 others 6 1

Honestly I don't hate that group under the right coach - you'd need to be disciplined and get Carlyle be your defensive stopper (he's got the speed) plus if you can keep Goode (may get a year back - only played 10 games) and get Mgbako head right (last 5 games have been better) especially defensively then you've got a real solid core. Obviously you'd need to bring in a stud or 2. Compare that starting lineup to Drakes or even Northwestern - how many games does Collins win with that group? HoosierDevils 1
