People don’t appreciate blatant trolling. It’s comical they get their feelings hurt when called out. I get that too… it’s a message board, sharing what you’re hearing is part of the fun. The vitriol starts, I think, because some people play a role of “insider” “leaking” information to put out “smokescreens” on the message boards when in reality, IMO, they should just be thought of like any buddy you’d shoot the **** about IU with. I don’t hold my friends accountable for being mistaken about who they want/think the next Coach will be. People who come here, say things definitively, then whine when questioned are why others get snippy with them. Same thing every cycle. Everyone gets sucked into the Brad, Jay drama before getting something mid to underwhelming. A ‘home run’ would be Beard or McCollum. Most of this other stuff is nothing more than wishful thinking

This is the type of info that has me scratching my head. And this is nothing against you. But how can multiple people know it’s not Brad, but they are going to not say who it is? I’m not excited about either. HOWEVER, how can you make somebody take a job that they aren’t interested in. I’m sure Scott threw the kitchen sink at “big names”. If we don’t have one on the sideline next year, it’s likely not due to a lack of a plan or effort.

The reality check for many of us will be that IU basketball simply isn’t the job we think it is after years of bad basketball.

Personally I do not think it is fair to group RTZ and Chris with Isaac.  They are clearly not the same.  Everyone needs to take a deep breath around here.  This thing still has some flight time left before we come to some clarity.

I am always amazed at how many people take message board and social media rumors and comments as facts about what is happening. Just because random Joe who claims to know someone who knows someone does not make it fact. We really struggle as a country to separate group sentiment from fact. The facts are no one on these internet sources really knows anything, and if they do it's almost like Schrodinger's fact. It is both true and untrue since there is no way of knowing. Worse than that is when it's not even people who claim to know anything just posting random thoughts as if they are an expert on something and others get all worked up about it being true. Just because a bunch of people are arguing about Ben McCollum or Brad Stevens or Brad Brownell or anyone else doesn't mean any of them are actual favorites or even real candidates.
