He could win here and win big. Problem is…can he win and win big here in years 1 and 2? If he doesn’t, he’s toast.

I just don’t believe at this stage he has the experience and inner-workings to navigate the portal and do an overnight turn around. It’s a huge gamble.

I’d like to see him do something at an ACC school before jumping to the big leagues.

Oh look; another big name to drive views.

Kind of comes across as someone that had a lot of access in the past and is not privy to that access now.

Look, I don’t like Goodman any more than the next guy, probably less. But he would not put that out there unless he was certain. I’m maybe a tad surprised TJ is out already, but otherwise, none of these eliminations should  be unexpected to any fan thinking dispassionately about the job.

Well, yeah, you would need Indiana sources to know that for sure.  The fact that Beard or his agents think (or just tell people) he is in the running doesn't mean squat.

I was talking about his tweet regarding Stevens/Drew/Otz not being in the running.

I would too but any ACC school not named Duke or UNC is going to give McCollum ample time to settle in and do things his way.

Just remember guys. Whoever we get is better than Woodson. I do think along with Beard, Brownell etc…that there is a high major coach that nobody is talking about that would be a surprise and a very good one.

Question for everyone…. What does Brownell bring to the table? I know really nothing about him. Is he good at X’s and O’s? Is he a good recruiter? Can he hire great assistants?

I do not agree with you. He's vague. He's a hater...he loves throwing shade at IU. Hence "(obviously)". F'em.

Rhetorical question here but after 25 years of mediocrity, can IU afford to gamble? Or is a gamble all that’s left at this point of the search?

Brownell is the safe boring pick is what the pundits would say to try and spin it into a positive. but he’s a better X’s and O’s coach than Woodson and he’s an Indiana native.

I’m not sure McCollum is such a gamble if you’re fully committed to supporting him for 4 full years. Unfortunately, that’s rarely the case here.

We’ve added 15 pages in the last hour. That Goodman tweet is having the intended effect.

Is it odd to anyone else that he tweets that and then immediately starts stumping for Beard? Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist, nor am I against hiring Beard, just seems strange.
