Those guys don't really have a lot of access right? So they are probably losing subscriptions. Why wouldn't they throw out a bone for the crazy Facebook page that throws out beards name every other posters?

And they can say stevens isn't 100 percent out so they can generate clicks on those fans too. All the while having no idea what is actually going on?

The search firm consisting of Josh Pastner, Tom Crean, Seth Greenberg, and Mark Turgeon recommended Josh Pastner, Tom Crean, Seth Greenberg, and Mark Turgeon as top candidates for the open IU head coaching position.

It’s something like that Groce, Turgeon, Schertz, Brownell, Devries and Eric Olen

I believe I said 5th or more. But I also don’t think we’re actively searching at this point.

That's my feeling as well.  Whoever it is has already been concluded.  Just a matter of when it will be released.  In that case, any speculation about who they would be meeting with at some later date is nothing but speculation to something that isn't happening.

Bigger question:

What college will Woodson be coaching at next year? ;)

King University.

But they are an online school

And don't have a basketball team.

I'd be out too. I don't know if I'd even come back when he ends up getting fired. The fact that he was hired in the first place would make that very difficult. Easier than every to move on, though, after the last 8 years.

I sent you a DM a week or 2 ago about a group of donors that were saying Beard is a legitimate candidate.  I wonder if Rabby is getting it from these donors.  I just can’t see Dolson hiring Beard.  My son is a very involved student at IU, and he thinks the resulting protests would make Tennessee’s Greg Schiano fiasco look like baby crap in comparison.

I really have a hard time believing IU would actually hire him. Even if the administration was about to overlook his past, he'd be a very divisive hire that would drive a lot of fans away.

They have a clear picture. There is a folder of pictures of Beard from the last search. I’ve been told about it more than once.

And Pat Knight to back up bailing him out.

I'm not in favor of Beard being hired but it's not like I would stop rooting for IU if he were the coach.  I just don't see it and would say the interest in more one way.

To the last point we are still talking about the University that could have hired many more qualified individuals and landed on Mike Davis to appease a group of kids that wouldn’t be there more than 5 minutes anyway.  I do not think they look past their nose, and that hasn’t changed in 25 years.

Interesting. So at a bare minimum the 1,000+ posts here saying that Beard has no chance were in fact wrong. Weird.
Well at least we can't be told no bigger name wanted the job because at least one does

Listened to the largest Michigan podcast today. They are starting to turn a bit concerning their team and Dusty. They don’t think they will win another game this year. Lose this weekend and 1 and done in both the BTT and NCAA’s

It is possible.  They aren't playing real well right now.  I do worry for their sake that they could end up facing a team in the NCAAs that will go small on them and make it hard for Dusty to play Goldin and Wolf together.

If we can’t hire someone with 10 million a year to get us back winning then we’re hurting. But I guess save money and go that route. But you’re not uniting the fan base.
Stevens is the only guy to unite the fan base. Woodson clearly wasn't.

Dolson spoke at length about a study members of his staff produced at the time that became instrumental in the hiring process.

He directed his team to analyze the last three decades of Indiana football to identify areas of consistency when the Hoosiers were successful. The group asked the same questions about like-programs — including North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Purdue and Illinois — to see what common factors were present when they were winning.

Dolson leaned on that research to come up with an initial pool of candidates that included Cignetti.

The athletic department also hired prominent search firm TurnkeyZRG to assist them. Dolson has gone on record describing them as “invaluable” to the process in the past. At that Rotary Club meeting, he said the firm worked off criteria he provided them, criteria which came directly from that study, to identify candidates.

Indiana will follow a similar blueprint in the coming weeks, as it seeks Woodson's replacement.

Guys, this is all just window dressing. Scott's had his guy for a minute! Names flying around everywhere like coins out of a winning slot machine!

Coins don’t fly out of a winning slot machines anymore.  Now it’s a high tech cash out voucher.  That’s why I don’t play anymore because I don’t know what I am doing without all the noise from the coins.
