I will give Dolson this.  At least he isn’t shopping from the Archie Miller or Mike Woodson bargain barrel this time it seems.  Feels like my Bears going after Ben Johnson after paying Eberflus half for 3 years.  I want to believe.  No insight to how hands off certain outspoken individuals are behind the scenes.  Been trying to get a feel on that as much as anything.  That will tell us how much freedom Dolson has and what the decision will look like.

Tracy on Philly --> Opa Locka to work with Stevens agency on contract details

Stevens and IU reps on Philly --> Bloomington to keep discussing.

My random conjecture.

@Chris007 saying love is in the air—could be a Valentine’s Day joke, but also Philly is the city of brotherly love.

Ned's plane then flew to Philly and has been there since Wednesday afternoon. It left this morning to go back to Opa, about the same time a plane from Bedford, MA was due in Philly. Now they missed each other by 15 minutes. Possible smoke screen, because Dolson knows we are tracking.

Then this final one popped up from Philly to Bloomington. No links to anyone, as it is a chartered jet.

You take all these together, and it is just an amazing set of coincidences, or is it involved? Hope that helps

N53HA as you said was in PHL since yesterday afternoon. Maybe Dolson stayed in Philly last night and through today, when he’ll take the chartered plane to Bloomington at 3:30pm?
This leaves 4 hours of mutual time in Philly for Dolson and anyone who landed from Bedford this morning. Hey, maybe they’re all headed to Btown together?

Feels like when information starts to leak, it will come from NBA media sources.

If Stevens decides to take the job, he'll want to ensure the Celtics have a plan in place to replace him which NBA sources will easily get wind of.

100%. Shams is my bet.

It's gonna hurt so bad when he turns us down.

It shouldn’t, if that happens and you haven’t prepared yourself for that actuality, that’s on you (not you personally, just saying people hoping for Brad, need to be prepared that it might not happen).

Side note: Everytime I see an Oklahoma score they are losing by 25+, and then I check their record and they are 16-8.  Don't know how it's possible.

Sounds like Woodson

They started 13-0, so they’ve lost most of their games since then.

It would be easy to laugh off if it wasn’t NED F*****G PFAU’S PLANE. This is smoky.

Yes, right, I excluded some context from my message.

Need Jerry and AP to get in here with some color

The "hurry" as you put it relates to commitment and desire.  If someone offered you your dream job with great money, would you say:

1) Well, let me think about it.  I'll let you know in two weeks.

Or

2) Damn right, when can I start.

I get it, there are logistics and family issues in play here, but if this is what he wants to do, and his family is behind him, then decide already.  The hesitation has me concerned that he would be here under some type of "duress" -- he came but family is unhappy, doing it for the money, etc.  Are we going to get maximum effort from him?  IDK.

I really do not have a clue what is going down during this period.

Closing the deal is big for both sides.  But in negotiating a contract, the advantage goes to the person that gets the offer.

For instance, if one is offered...the offer means that you are The Chosen One.  You.

Now, the power if you will, goes to the recipient of the offer.  Negotiation can begin knowing I Am The Chosen One.  Evidently, a very unique and precious commodity.

I have always paused after an offer.

If The Man wants two weeks, and that is what it takes to close The Deal, then two weeks it is.   You want another week?

Why?

These guys and gals are talking turkey.  No need to hurry it.

The new era of Indiana basketball isn't baked in a day.

Thankfully, it seems they have better fallback options than last time.  But if they miss on Brad and end up with Randy Whittman I will crash out.
