Okay, I know nothing, but I’m going out on a limb here. Just read Bozich’s most recent column. I’ve been reading Bozich since he was with the Louisville Courier Journal way back in the 80s. I’ve found him to be discreet, trustworthy, and an IU guy—which means he is kind of a company guy like Don Fischer who has been able to cover IU through the years and not tick administration or Bobby Knight off back in the day. In said column,  He goes through all the names we’ve been discussing lately—(with no mention of BS). He gives all the positive and negatives of each—all well and good. Then he says he believes SD is gonna hire someone else, no one is talking about—not on the list he just gave. Okay, fine, some unknown guy? No—- he then describes this guy as a veteran coach looking for a new challenge to rebuild IU. Kent Sterling does a video and says the exact same thing. I know to take Bozich seriously and also know he is connected and values access and won’t cross the athletic department. In my mind, BS just went from a 1-2% likely to better than even odds. Here’s what I think. Reporters trusted by the AD know who the hire is—a small select number. And they’ve been asked to hold the story and just discuss other candidates until a set time—probably once senior day is done and the lights turned out in the Hall on Saturday. No more home games, no need to protect Woodson’s ego after that point. With the terrible risk of sounding like isaacTor, I guess—based on nothing but reading between the lines— that around 8 Saturday night Bozich and a handful of guys that are trusted in the AD will simultaneously start breaking stories about rumors of who this “veteran” coach is. I might be totally wrong, but I think “we got him.” Who else could this veteran guy be?

I would be shocked if the name has not popped up in here at least once.....unless Dolson is bringing someone back from the dead....

Are you brain dead? I literally said the biggest concern with him is recruiting at this level.  He is a great X and O guy.  Recruiting would be a concern.  I would hire him over Beard.  Lawsuits suck.  I wouldn’t want to get fired for the crap he is capable of.

You worded this a lot better than I have been trying to lol my prediction is Sunday though, not inside info whatsoever just a guess. I think it’ll be sooner rather than later for portal reasons alone. I’m sure the coaches are all but already cleaned out lol

It depends on what you mean by build up. I don’t care who the coach is, missing the tournament next year would be a fail. Would I’m not saying we should be top 10 next year (it’d be nice) but in todays age with the portal and NIL, the time for years of building up a program are gone for top schools.

Not saying I necessarily disagree, but IU can't keep doing what Woodson is doing either. The next coach has to actually recruit and develop some young players too. That WILL require some time as well.

The new coach will also need to develop a new culture and install a new system.

But, the NCAA tournament isn't an unrealistic expectation at all IMO.

Alright this is the history teacher in me, but we are on page 1863.  It is one of my favorite years in American History.  That's the 3rd year of the American Civil War and the famous Battle of Gettysburg.  I am betting we hear about the next coach when we reach page 1944, which is my favorite year in history: WW2 and D-Day in Europe.  Let's go!

Just talked to my Bloomington lawyer and ask him if he had any inside information on our new coach. He said he had a friend who was a good friend of Dolson that usually gave him information but said he had been totally quiet on this search. I tried

Is Scott Skiles still alive?  I haven't heard about him in years and remember him living in Bloomington at one point

Scott Skiles…SCOTT Skiles…now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time…a long time. Why, I haven’t heard the name Scott Skiles since, oh, before you were born.
