To me, if the Beard talk is valid, it indicates the search hasn’t gone well.  Original top candidates maybe not interested and we have to take another look at someone they initially were a hard no because others have passed??

Agreed.  To that point I have only heard Beard’s name with any level of certainty.  No clue who else will get an interview.  The only thing I ever heard in regards to this search was they had lined up a top 5 NIL budget for years to throw at the new coach.  I haven’t heard salary being discussed like others.  This has been the quietest search since Knight was fired.  Easily.

Can’t see decision makers including Dolson and Whitten willing to walk on pens and needles with Beard for the time he would be coaching (parallel to Knight or someone like Greg Marshall and his then wife (at Wichita State….seems Marshall is doing well outside of coaching).

Listened to the largest Michigan podcast today. They are starting to turn a bit concerning their team and Dusty. They don’t think they will win another game this year. Lose this weekend and 1 and done in both the BTT and NCAA’s

No doubt.  Just high level information gathering probably more than anything.  Putting feelers out there to agents.  Maybe connecting on a first call.  Probably not more than that.  I wish I could bill what they do for what they provide.

He definitely knows stuff, but probably sits on most of it to create suspense on his page. Hell, the meeting could be coming directly from Beard’s agent saying it will happen or it’s old information now making its wave.

Or the athletic office could be putting stuff out there to temper expectations from Stevens with them knowing Beard would piss a small portion off.  They aren’t above that.
