I would hope that Alan Huss is not on the list or the list after or even mentioned on the list after the list. Thats worse than Mark Turgeon by a mile.
The fact we are throwing around names like bronwell, turgeon , and huss who I've never heard of makes one a little nervous about this search.

I’ll say this for Beard despite being in the no group for him, it would be nice if we hired someone who actually wanted the job. Feeling like we are begging people to come resurrect the program is tiring.

Thank you for putting this into words better.  Beard seems like the only candidate portrayed that doesn't need to be woo'ed to come to IU.  His potential hire is starting to grow on me.   *ducks*

I think we can all say if Dolson dips down to a guy with one season as HC in D1.....we are in trouble.....
Big big trouble.

Not trying to say he is a realistic option for this immediate search. as my guy put it "Dolson knows he can grab someone like Alan Huss at any time". he wasn't on the original list of names he mentioned. just said his name as an example of a guy we could hire if we hear 'no' from preferred options. just thought it was interesting he used his actual name as an example is all

Don't want to ruin vibes on the Stevens train. was told he's said no twice already, but knowing Scott he will ask a 3rd time so i guess who really knows. Haven't heard anything new since last thursday, but will report back if/when i do

IF Stevens is still in play, it’s related to the sale of the Celtics. If Wyc is allowed to remain in control, I seriously doubt BS would leave. But I’ve got to imagine that new owners are gonna want to have their guy in place. That could open our chances with Brad, and supposedly Boston asked him nine times before he finally said yes. If I’m Dolson, I keep asking.

Have you said anything about Dusty May?  Do we have any shot with him?

Yep he actually wants to come. I guess some posters will quit watching if we hire him but so be it. Most fans would still support iu.

Zero games

8 years in house as an assistant at Duke.  I think they knew what he was capable of.

Alan Huss is a good X and O coach but in this or pretty much every alternate timeline he isn't the next coach at IU.

I think he would be a good hire.  I don't know all of what happened in his past other than what was posted and in the news.  Charges dropped and he has had no more issues that I am aware of.  I am for second chances, Lord knows we all probably have used them or needed them.   3rd and 4th chances for some, LOL.

The committee has done/is doing quite a bit of background work on Beard. No idea where that ultimately goes. alan huss is an interesting name. i think he's a little further down the list of candidates today, but an interesting name. No coach has signed any agreements, no coach has been hired to this point. still work to be don but some really good options

You heard him, pack up the stevens train, and all aboard for alan huss and or chris beard the non starter

It's not just about who keeps watching or doesn't watch - it's about how high-risk he is off the court. That's what most people are evaluating.

Bingo.

Huss has seven years as the Associate Head Coach at Creighton.

I’ve been clear that I’d prefer McCasland, Otz, Drew, Buzz, Cronin, but to say that Huss is unqualified after seven years as the top assistant at a program that’s better than ours, followed by two extremely successful D1 HC years is some serious overrating of how good IU has been for 20+ years.
