Indiana should look at what ND is doing in this regard for football and copy it. Basically they have a recruiting guy/asst GM and then a GM for all the NiL and transfer market stuff. They hired a guy from the Detroit lions to run it like a pro shop.  This should free up the coaches to coach more and recruit less.  IU could reach out to Lawrence Frank or somebody and see who the hottest young talent scout is in the NBA. 
 

I do wonder if an IU/UNC/KU level school set that’s type of turnkey operation up, if you couldn’t get a Wright or Bennett type to come back.

Last year, even though the BOT voted to keep Woodson for one more year, was there not anyway for Pam Whitten to step in and overturn that considering SD supposedly was wanting to move on Dusty?

Goodman crosses all the world's on this (college basketball, IU, NBA, Boston). He had some, "here we go again" tweets with the Stevens stuff right when the Woodson announcement was made because he sees the IU fan accounts, so he went and squashed it quickly. 

If anything, maybe Dolson asked Goodman and Stevens to squash IU fans speculation early so that people have some time to come to grips with their crushed dreams before the new hire is announced, lol. Give the next guy a fair shake when he's introduced even if he's not named Brad Stevens... Just another thought... Not saying that's the case.

Man, if Dusty DOES sign an extension, Dolson better REALLY have his crap together. I'm personally over "decent" coaches roaming our sideline. I don't expect a championship every year but I DO expect to make the tournament every year. Not 2 out of 3 years...EVERY YEAR!

An important difference is that the portal wasn't a free-for-all with set windows at that time. I don't think it really got nuts with free transferring and all that until after Woody was hired.

Man, if we don't get this hire right, everybody involved in last year's decision making should be fired into the sun. (Dolson, BOT, Donors, etc.)

Apparently Self seriously considered the Ok State job last year. Wouldn’t be shocked if he wanted a change of scenery after this season.
