From 90,000 feet it does make sense. I would be cold, lonely, and balled up in the fetal position trying not to vomit and reconsidering my life choices 90,000 feet up in the air.

We all would be if IU hired Turgeon.

I’m actually somewhat surprised it’s considered quite so outlandish to explore Turgeon. Does no one realize Mark was co-B1G champ right before covid wrecked all of his momentum?

That was not that long ago.

We get it.  You know Mark.  We do not want him as our next coach.

Alright....no one has said it yet. Since we are tossing unrealistic names out.

Back up the brinks truck and dump it in Painter's yard...come make a boat load of money porkchop, and bonus...you get to live somewhere that doesn't smell like doo doo.

….a new guy comes on here with only 14 freakin’ posts, mentions a few possible things to create some debate/questions and you’re all upside down?!?. Gee whiz!!! SMH…..

Don't we all agree that it's highly unlikely we're going to really find out anything of real substance until the season is over?

Indiana should definitely do that…so he can ask for a raise and drain money from the PU program.

In reality painter hasn't even been good enough to survive here imo. We would have probably had him begging to leave after his first round exit to the 16 team. Last year we would have said he just can't win the big 1 when he lost to uconn. I feel this season will end disappointing fashion for them. We would now be saying he can't win at elite level

Tom Crean, who most definitely would know:

”The number one requirement for (being the head coach at) a place like Indiana is that you better have been (figuratively) punched in the mouth many times in your life… and I’m not talking about dealing with a three game losing streak.”

What punches people in the mouth?

You can't punch people in the mouth with a hand. But you can with ...

THE FIST!

Actually, I like that idea... I actually heard it somewhere (maybe Brian Evans)... but make him a seriously over the top offer... and one of two things will happen:

  • Matt Painter becomes our coach
  • Purdue has to spend an exorbitant amount of money to keep him.

Both ways, we win.

Yeah, to be fair, Painter has had some rough losses to double-digit seeds in the NCAA tournament.

Of course, IU hasn't been making the tournament, so there's that...
