Tomato Tomato. The general assumption is P4 (B12, ACC, B1G,SEC) vs Mid-Major. Big East is upper tier mid-major if you will. The fact is most of the schools in the Big East will not be able to compete with the 23 million dollar salary cap next year.

Power 4 is football.  Power 5 is basketball.  Big East will always be considered a power conference in basketball.   UConn just won back to back national titles and has one of the highest nil for basketball.  It would be ridiculous to call them a mid major.  I get it though schools like  Butler and Seton Hall will have a tough time to compete however in Butlers case they wanted to move.  They should have stayed in the A-10 when they moved into that conference instead of jumping up again.   It’s why Butler has struggled because they are a mid major in a high major conference

Not me!

For this year? Sure.

But for Indiana? He’d be 65 years old his first day on the job and we’d have maybe one recruiting cycle before he would leave.

I agree with this. However, with our resources and PearI’s fire I do think we would be competing for Final Fours right out of the gate.

Apparently an unnamed husband of a realtor said on a random social media post that Tracy Stevens was looking at horse farms off 37 this weekend. Hope this helps.

....and so it begins

Beard vs Golden

I found the recent polling done to be very interesting.  The results showed that 66% of the voters would want Todd Golden as their next coach at IU and only 44% would want Beard.  Golden was accused of a University Title IX violation for sexually stalking, harassing, and sending unwanted di@k pics to women on social media.  The university investigated and said that he did not violate Title IX.  Because of privacy reasons around Title IX that is all the University of Florida said.  It did not say these things did not happen, just that he did not violate Title IX.  The University of Florida took several months to investigate and eventually backed Golden.

Beard was accused and arrested for hitting and biting his girlfriend during an argument.  Beard said he was defending himself, and his girlfriend at the time claims that was true and she did not think Beard was trying to harm her.  Charges were not filed against Beard.  The University of Texas was reactionary and suspended and fired Beard rather quickly.

I don't think IU would or should hire either one.  There are enough good coaches without hiring someone with this type of baggage.  I'm just interested why Golden is not being held to the same standards as Beard.  Were voters not familiar with the complaints?
