Hoosier82 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I would be shocked if IU doesn’t get May if they pursue. I don’t care that he has only been at UM for a year or that they will try to lock him up. The key point is that they didn’t lock him up to begin with. I can’t believe that UM didn’t protect themselves more when he was hired. For a good comparison, look at Roy Williams. He had Kansas rolling, and left for UNC after another alumni Matt Daugherty stunk as a coach. Sound familiar? When asked why he took the UNC job, “There's several factors [for my decision] -- my roots, my dream and my family.” DLG3 1
JF87 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I would love Dusty May, but has there been a P5 coach that switched teams in conference in the last 30 years? I just don't think it's done. cybergates 1
IUGRAD06 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Calling my shot. One of McCollum, Cronin, McDermott, McCasland, and Bucky will be the next IU basketball coach. BannerVille 1

Brought Goldin with him and added the stud point from Auburn and big from Yale to mix with talent he already had. COY honors probably doesn’t bode well for us.

Archie at least got teams to the 50s. HinnyHoosier 1
DLG3 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I’m the biggest Dusty homer that there is. If we can lure him, I’d be beyond thrilled. For the few doubters of him left, keep doubting. He’ll just keep getting better and proving people wrong. I would love to be wrong, but I’m about to have myself talked out of him leaving UM. Maybe I put too much stock into what his family says. I’m not sure anyone besides him really knows. But if it can’t be Dusty, just find another coach born in 1976 I guess. What a year for head coach births. Home Jersey, JPCIVOP and Chris007 3

He was quite the candidate around here in the Archie cycle. You know a dude is an irredeemable POS when a guy was as successful as he was and when he goes away no one EVER tries to bring him back. Whatever the Chris Beard concerns are, he ain’t Gregg Marshall. That’s a good pull. He was as hot as anyone and then just dropped off the face of the basketball planet. HinnyHoosier 1

Inexplicably, 3 years ago UGA "stole" a middling at best Mike White, with no discernible offensive philosophy and meh results to finish 11th (6-12) in the SEC the last 2 seasons and is 4-9 now.
