IMO, if we "had" to have a former Knight player be the coach 4 years ago, it should have been Alford. But this wasn't about a former Knight player. It was nepotism- plain and simple.

Exactly, and at its best too

There isn’t one, Goodman got a text from BS saying he was happy being in Boston and going to work everyday.

Which, quite frankly seems very strange to me because it seems like BS would do something more classy like address HSN specifically and say something like “I’m very honored that the Indiana fans want me to be their next coach but I am happy in Boston, etc. etc.”,  Instead of some Flippin comment texted to some random sports dude.

What was the reason that we think Otzelberger is not a good candidate?  I can’t remember if it was a “he won’t come “ or a “we can do better “?

Buyout and seems content in Ames I believe

Plus isn't his wife a former player at Iowa State?  Can't remember which sport, and I think her side of the family are all around that area too.

Nope. Lots of people wont support him due to the specific transgressions he was accused of

You know what would get those people to support him.. winning

and to the fans that don’t ✌️

What about getting Tony Bennett (NCAA Champion) to coach and then we hire someone as a GM to manage the NIL part that of the job that he didn't like?

Tony Bennett (433-169) 0.719 win % at Washington State and Virginia......and he's only 55.  Is it true his wife is an IU Grad as well, or is that part false?

To me, sending a text about a subject like this seems unprofessional and it doesn’t sound like something BS would actually do, IMO

No I saw that, but the only thing in quotations is Stevens saying he's happy in Boston. I find it odd the part about not being a candidate isn't in quotations as well. Also find it odd that that's the only part of the text Goodman shared. So we're to just take it on Goodman's word that Stevens specifically said he's not a candidate?

It feels like a grenade went off in here yesterday.  Everyone is disoriented, we’ve got some folks down, some are unaccounted for, no one knows quite what is going on.  It’s going to take time to recover…

Isn't the word described from WWI, "Shell Shock"?

Also that, which just literally popped in my head. Why would he even be talking with Goodman about this?

I’ll admit, it’s pretty vague and interesting, compared to 2021 where he explicitly said it multiple times in front of media.

If Stevens is for sure a no, then take that same money and go after the best sitting coaches you can. Who cares if they say no. IU needs to send a message that they aren't messing around and they are willing to pay top dollar for the best. Jay Wright, Bill Self, etc....Go get someone to inject this program with some life and energy. Some of the names that are being mentioned are so blah. We may end up with a blah level coach but make the best say no.
