Holding out hope for Brad?

Are you for real?  I hope you are kidding!  That ship has sailed!  I as skeptical but all the smoke got me pumped and now this is a let down.

I know so many insiders said that Quinn Buckner forced Woody on Dolson, but they also said that Stevens was happening.

I believe nothing about the Quinn story too.

Dolson hired Woody.  He better get this one right or he's done in my eyes

Quinn hiring Woody has been confirmed by normal IU media and journalists, including the IndyStar.

You think Scott picked the zero college experience failed NBA coach?  Or did Quinn pick his best friend who needed a job?  Pretty obvious what happened.

Couldn’t agree more. Winning fixes everything. If beard would come in and restore the program, which I think he would, many fans would forget about his past quickly.

Ditto!  Chris Beard for coach!

Wow ghost me and you agree! I was you biggest fan when you were alive also. Still believe in everything you did leading young men to prepare for the battle of the game and prepare for life!

You should believe the Quinn story.

The only slam dunk hire IU has made in the last 130 years was the second time Branch McCracken was our coach. No one is saying McCollum is a slam dunk, but I think he’s a unique coaching talent within the “up and comer” category crowd of the last 10 years. And it sounds like folks’ biggest concern is his ability to handle the stage, not his basketball acumen…

I want the best coach, and I have yet to see anything indicating he shouldn’t have that argument made in his favor. He runs a very efficient offense and his teams grind on defense. Will he start landing Cooper Flaggs with that type of play? Maybe not, but he will bring in talent here and also make the most out of the players who will actually stay 2-4 years (e.g., Robert Johnson, Armann Franklin types) who are the types of players that win championships for other programs yet our previous coaches cause to plateau in year two…

RMK came from Army and was an up and comer! Let's not forget!

I believe McCollum teaches the same basketball that RMK did.

Nothing. Let's get real. This is a free message board. I want to believe stevens is coming. I respect all of their opinions and intel. I have worked and known many compulsive liars. Perhaps these guys are friends with one. Also possible they are purdue fans having fun and laughing at us. In the end this board is for fun. Look at some of the posters for christ sake! Kathy the board member lol. Of course not everyone is real

You’ve been here longer than me and honestly should know better than to believe the Stevens rumors at this point.

I trust Scott and hope he has the full reigns but none of this makes sense.
To pushing Woody out midseason, JerryYeagley confidently saying Scott has his man from the very beginning and sticking to it, to Trilly confirming Scott spoke with AAU coaches yesterday and mentioned a non-college coach as his priority, to today. Doesn't make sense.

Trilly also said to “move on to other candidates”

No thanks!  IU basketball rumors have been so wrong for so long.  No more excuses

To be fair, it shouldn’t be all that difficult to top the last two hires. Dolson would almost have to purposely bunk this one to be a continuation of the last eight seasons.

No, IU media and journalists reported the facts.

Oh, well if media and journalists said it, then it must be true!!

You’re adding up pretty much nothing in terms of decisions Scott has been allowed to make for bball.  He wanted to get rid of Woody last year, that was a good call.  Overruled though.

And you’re just going to ignore football?

I’m not ignoring football, but he’s not hiring a football coach. Everything basketball-related has been a disaster during his tenure. He’s got good PR with the “I wasn’t allowed to do my job” stuff, but at the end of the day, he’s the AD. The buck stops with him. The “they didn’t let me do my job” stuff just tells me he’s a yes men who’s afraid to make waves.

Brother, I’ve had a blast sh!tposting on here for Brad the last few days. It was always a long shot. Everyone knew that. Being gleeful that people who got their hopes up and are disappointed is weird - this is a message board for fanatics who are gonna have all sorts of opinions / hopes you find silly. The discourse on this message board is completely meaningless. I’m glad we can all move onto discussing real candidates now. Sorry you guys had to put up with people being slightly hopeful even if naive for a few days lol.

All good my friend just making light of an all encompassing topic. I’ve been shot down by my choice of our new coach, by other posters who don’t seem to have the same beliefs as free, unfettered discussion. Book naming for Stevens could be endless. Peace!

I’m reading the tea leaves from Yeags and assuming it is and was Mark Few the entire time.

I will not be taking questions at this time, please respect my decision.

Few is defintely “our guy”.  I’ll fill you all in on the details after I find my keyboard.
