I am in the camp that believes Marshall has a ton to do with our shooting issues.  When I played in HS our coaches warned us that significant weight lifting would affect our shooting and we would need to put in twice the shooting work to maintain.  Anytime you mess with the shooting motion ratio (including visual, muscle memory and strength) that its is going to affect your percentage/ability until your brain retrains itself and gets the ratio back in sync.  Now, that could be all BS, but I do know I shot worse immediately after nearly every single time, so I believe it from first hand experience.

If we did not play football we were not allowed to be in the weight room. My high school coach was the same as Pat Graham

I'm not blaming Cliff solely on our shooting struggles but probably is some sort of correlation.  His background is in football too. If he's doing the same workout as before, then probably not the best.

But wouldn't that mean Archie Miller's teams would improve their shooting if there was a poor shooting correlation to Cliff Marshall? It should mean a shooter like Luke Goode also regresses but he's having probably his best shooting season.

I know I’m repeating what others have said, but I can’t imagine for one second that Dolson would talk to AAU coaches without:

A. Being extremely confident that the Stevens thing is a done deal.
B. Stevens knowledge/approval/direction

He isn’t stupid and it makes no sense to do it without both points A & B being in place.

The scheduling thing is also interesting to me because I asked a ways back how many people thought Stevens had a good working knowledge of IU’s roster and no one really responded. Getting games scheduled without a confirmed head coach indicates that we do have someone we expect and they seem to have a pretty good grip on what the program needs, what our personnel could look like,  and on the college landscape in general.

It's 100% BS lol

Clif Marshall talk is wild lol

He has very little to do with shooting or lack thereof

He needs to be let go along with everyone else on the staff. Clean house, even time for Tim to hang them up.

Hulls might be safe, perhaps Calbert to some extent.

Don't you know by now that when your team is struggling, EVERYONE is to blame.

When your team is excelling, everyone is great at their job.

You  must live in a completely different time dimension.  You just posted your comment on page 1010 and we're now up to page 1014.

Do we have that many pages of hidden posts? Lol

On a more positive note, crazier things do happen.

Ben Saben to Alabama

Bill Belichick to North Carolina

Or when the Nazis bomb Pearl Harbor.

hmmmmm no.

If you're getting rid of Marshall, then those two certainly need to go.

On Goode, not if he is currently not doing arm days.  Could be the reason he started off so slow (like the whole team did) until they caught up their new bodies and strengths.  Not saying this as fact, just giving my personal opinion on the possible explanation.

Also, maybe Archie hired a similar style S&C coach at Rhode Island?
