Unless you were personally told by Stevens or someone who knows, it's not a fact, it's your opinion. 

I think you're correct that he's likely in Boston to see his son but the fact is that it isn't a fact, it's an opinion. Let's not confuse opinion and fact. 

If you see Stevens in the stands during the game or can otherwise confirm that he is there, THEN it becomes a fact.

But tell me … isn’t it just a little, teeny-tiny, wee bit interesting that the Pfau private plane from Monroe County and a plane from Hanscom AFB in suburban Bostonboth flew to the small Opa Locka airport, the airport closest to Stevens’ agent’s offices, at around the same time?

And even without the Hanscom flight, that Btown Pfau flight to Opa Locka would still be a tiny bit interesting, riiiight?

I would say Brad misses most of his son’s games. There is just no reason this meeting would be tonight when college basketball season has 6 weeks left. I would think this meeting could happen at a later date when brads son isn’t in town.

Correct, it very well could. But a game tonight doesn’t discredit that it “could” be him.

He could have met with his son earlier for lunch or even dinner last night, depending on when the team arrived. Hell, I heard a rumor that the Stevens and Shrewsberry’s had dinner last night.


Also, the portal opens the 17th or 24th or something. Anyways, if he did take the job, he would have to get a place here I believe, then get a staff, talk to current players, get a feel for them and then get all ready and ramped for portal. So wouldn’t want to wait till last minute.

Am I saying Brad is coming? No
Can we say he isn’t? No
Is it crazy rumor season? Hell yeah

I legit haven’t heard much on Stevens.  The people I speak with think the focus is on May.  I kind of wish from a coaching perspective Beard will be there in the discussion if we get past the Stevens of the world.  But it doesn’t sound too promising there.  Not saying my info is good.  Mainly been around Mirro people.  Just not a great early feel so I am leery of all of this strong info.  Not saying it’s not true, just not what I am hearing or the level of confidence.  I would love Stevens and in this NIL era how perfect would it be to have someone that has managed pros?  Will keep my fingers and toes crossed with the masses.

I didn’t have intentions of having that game on the main TV but this is coach searching season so I got to suck it up and watch this one on the main.  I will keep you posted

If someone gave me a way to guarantee Dusty May to IU at the price of elimination of ‘a Brad Stevens maybe’ and all other candidates?

I’d sign for that instantly and be the happiest ******* Hoosier there’s ever been.

Could Brad be on the flight.. absolutely

it’s just that once it was known that Boston college was hosting Notre dame tonight it became a lot less likely in my opinion.

And all this is going on during NASCAR qualifying which im having to miss.

Agreed man.  I know everyone is over the top strong opinions because of where we are and have been as a program.  There are home runs, and then there is Brad Stevens.  But once you move past the white whale, I legit think there are 2-3 coaches attainable in this cycle that could be home runs.  A couple other times we have been in this spot over the last 25 years the options were just sad.  If they let Dolson make this call without the usual voices drowning others out?  I have full confidence he gets this right.  Rinse and repeat what all we have said over the last 5-6 hiring cycles, but I just feel better because I feel very good money is not an issue in either NIL or the next Coach.  The next Coach will be coming into a top 3 NIL budget.  That I know is lined up.  We all need to collectively thank the work Cignetti has done to raise the profile of our AD.  He usually can get what he asks for right now money wise.
