I stand by it. That said, from the IU side, if you’ve got the right guy lined up, then of course you want something signed ASAP, and maybe it’s reported someone’s “agreed in principle to be the next coach at IU” but will stay in his current through the waiver deadline or whatever other date.

Am I remembering correctly that last time Trilly was never on board with anything involving Stevens and IU

Trilly didn’t exist in 2021.

Also he said he’s hearing things but not from people he absolutely trusts yet.

Hmmm ok.  Was there something similar?  I seem to recall talk of a discord chat back in that time as well.   But I have slept a couple times since then.

I don’t think it’s “done” yet. And even if it was we still have a coach who’s making things ugly behind the scenes lol, don’t want to make it worse by announcing new head coach imo. as far as announcement goes I have no clue what that timeline is assuming we close and get there

Has there ever been a time when a coach announced he was leaving at season end, and their replacement was hired and announced before it ended? There could have been, but idk if it’s something IU would do or not. Heck, I hope!

Hear me out. If dolson can pull stevens and somehow connect woodson to agreeing to stay this year so they could land stevens then woodson legacy could be saved and almost hero status restored?

Hmmm ok.  Was there something similar?  I seem to recall talk of a discord chat back in that time as well.   But I have slept a couple times since then.

There was a Peegs discord that they ended up leaving open for a couple weeks. That’s where BackAlleyGuru came from lol

One thing I keep coming back to is that Brad is going to have to address this soon. Way too much noise around him, so the longer this goes without a new Masshole 2k25 comment, the better for us IMO.

I’m not sure. He can barely get himself to go to a recruiting dinner. Not sure he deserves much praise.

That wint happen until real nba media or credible media can get to him. He probably doesn't have to talk to the media that much?

No way they announce while Woodson is still coaching.  But then again, you want to cause maximum pain -- there it is.  :)

How does Woodson staying for the rest of the year connect to getting Stevens?  Couldn't all this still be happening if Woody was fired and an interim was in place?

Just tell Woodson they're offering a lifetime extension and to get it he has to meet at a golf course that's conveniently about 1,000 miles away. Take him on the IU jet, when he gets off, fly back to Bloomington without him.
