Popular Post hoosierjoe Posted March 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 23, 2021 I'm admittedly a lurker around here, but man this thread is insanity. We're really tracking meaningless flights to the Bahamas and New York City? Does anyone really think IU would go so far out of their way to hide their movements that they would fly all the way to the BAHAMAS to get to Boston? Scott Dolson could drive 1 hour to Louisville or a few extra to Nashville and take a commercial flight and never be recognized if they were worried about that. I may be in the minority here, but the longer this takes and stays quiet the more optimistic I am. I'm not sure what the rush is... IU has no real competition. The closest program in terms of perceived relevance that is open is Marquette. No one will be offering near the amount of money, facilities or exposure that IU can. There are quality coaches that at the very least will listen that are still playing, and there is no sense in rushing to fill the job just to appease the masses. My hope is this means Dolson isn't just going to offer the first guy who shows interest. Personally, I don't want to hear about "IU guys"... recruits and AAU coaches don't care about IU guys, why should we? If there was one worth pursuing sure, but honestly none of them would be a significant upgrade over Archie (and certainly not worth a $10M buyout). Get the right guy that the players want to play for if it takes 1 week or 1 month. HinnyHoosier, Hippopotamo, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 5 others 8

Part of our problem recently has been woeful out of state recruiting. we have woeful out of state recruiting because we suck. Gotta win first. Then the recruits will line up.

Maybe this is Dolson's plan. You swing and missed on Stevens. Everyone is now upset. Trot out ridiculous names like Cheaney and Woodson so that when you announce Beard or Drew as the next coach everyone breaths a giant sigh of relief and is elated. I really think that's what's happening. Pure genius on Dolson's part. HinnyHoosier, Five Prime and IUrocker 3
Trish Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I WANT BECKY ******** HAMMON! Way more potential than the old farts of Woodson and Alford. Has learned from arguably a better coach than most of the names I’ve seen on here. NBA connections, smart as hell, has respect of the best players of the world. Crazy how we are paying $10 million dollars for Archie to vacation for a year while coaches *potentially* turn us down and we’re hiring someone with zero head coaching experience.
Stuhoo Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 BECKY ******* HAMMON DOES NOT WANT YOU! BECKY ******* HAMMON DOES NOT WANT TO BE THE COACH FOR IU! She wants to be an NBA head coach, and she will be. IUBBx5Banners, ap2345, T White and 1 other 4

IUrocker Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Could it still be too soon to know if Beard would end up being the guy or would they have gotten that over with by now?
HoosierFan1994 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Rabjohns didn't say much that we didn't already know. One interesting tidbit was some schools are afraid of getting Chris Beard because Texas may want him. Says Texas would throw money at him. That being said, even he the "IU insider" said he has zero clue on what is going on. So take whatever anyone says with a grain of salt. I truly think nobody knows what is going on behind the scenes. ap2345 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Rabby Highlights on JMV 1. Not surprising that Franklin is in the portal to explore his options. 2. Transfers will be crazy with guys looking and moving around. 3. Dolson has talked to former players about who they want. 4. Dolson has given some former players consideration. 5. Woodson has interest and is getting some consideration plus he knows how to relate to players. Rabby said he’s a good coach in basketball terms but the question is recruiting which is what already know. He would have to put together a phenomenal staff. 6. Rabby said he has no clue who they will hire. 7. There is some interest from IU in Woodson, Cheaney, Matta, possibly interested in Moser and Muss. He doesn’t know if IU will even talk to Fife or Lewis but they might. Altman is interested. He’s not sure if Beard will get called because everyone thinks Texas will do anything to get him when Shaka is eventually fired. 8. Physicals don’t happen for coaches so the Matta report is crap but IU is or was interested. 9. Scott is running the show on this search which we already knew. Basically Rabby isn’t saying much whether he knows something or not and Dolson has talked to a LOT of people. GreatMcCracken’sGhost, kottke, T White and 2 others 4 1
