They already did have a better coach.  By my list, the only coach in the Big Ten worse than Archie is Richard Pitino

Wonder why he hasn't been let go yet. I heard he was interviewing for jobs. I'm just waiting for Goodman to say Boston College is hiring Archie Miller as their next coach

I’d say they’re both better than Collins, and if Miller’s better than Pitino it’s not by much. Pitino’s offense is better and he’s done well evaluating and landing some under-the-radar transfers.

Maybe the directive was to "go find a job or it's going to get bad for you in the stands." Tgen the hiring school is on the hook for some of the buyout??

Hopefully the redditor was right and we all are blessed with great news at 3PM. Not sure I can take a future of being routinely worse than Penn State.

Folks just need to relax. Penn State about to hire a new coach has nothing to do with us. Dolson wasn't my No. 1 choice as AD (I liked Chris Reynolds), but I think even he realizes the situation is untenable. Just because he didn't march into the locker room after the Rutgers loss and fire Archie doesn't mean he's not gonna get this done.

Dolson would have been 3 for me mostly because I was over the "yes" man regime of Fred Glass. I would have put Kraft 1 and Reynolds 2 followed by Dolson by a bit.

Too bad we couldn't play Minnesota and Iowa every game. Only two teams he could consistently beat.

Seems like he's got some coaching chops, but I'd guess there are at least a couple more steps he needs to climb before he's put in charge of a P5 program.
