Trust me, I am with you on that thought. At the end of the day though, if enough of the big names said no, then there is nothing that can be done except to go after someone that fits what you are looking for.

True but also if you are not willing to take a chance on guys like beard or wade nobody has a right to complain in 4 years if we are doing this all over again. Playing it safe is why we do this every four years.

If you haters don't enjoy the ride, just go somewhere else. I believe I speak for most everyone on this board when I say we very much enjoy the presence of Chris, JY, AP, RTZ, etc. Are they always right, no. Of course not. But part of the magic of this board is the deep love for IUBB and the hope that we will return to greatness. These insiders or whatever you want to call them help to bring us hope that Dolson & company are doing the right things to position us for success. Quit attacking them or go elsewhere.

I don't disagree with that either. However, KS put an end to the days of IU going after anyone with a past of any kind. Had we never gone after someone like KS back then, there might be some ability to take a chance on someone now. But I think KS took away the ability to do that and not be smeared in the face for taking a chance on someone a second time.

I definitely don’t want Brownell and I don’t think a tournament run helps his overall case as a potential IU coach. I think his coaching record speaks for itself, that his recent run isn’t sustainable.

Lol. Did anyone listen to the Curry Hicks podcast segment on Beard a week or so ago? He had Texas managers saying that Beard had gotten into altercations with his former fiance before at a team hotel in front of staff and players. Again this is not just a one-time thing.

Thinks more of this exact same scenario happened last time.  At the exact same message board. Everything pointed to something else, I mean everything but what random internet people here posted.  Even then nothing was said but hinted which led to people coming to their own conclusions via dreams and group think.  Many people just had fun with it but many also took it to heart and truly believed.  I'm just glad we can talk about things that are actually going on.

Pat Knight wouldn't even give Beard a recommendation last time we had an opening and that was before the DV stuff. Beard is a non-starter. I don't know as much about Wade other than maybe he's just too slippery to work with? That is complete speculation on some things I read about him though. Don't take that as gospel. I don't see Wade as a risk to do something to embarrass the U as much as just be a pain for administration consistently. Beard has the potential to embarrass and divide the university and fanbase. I'm not sure Btown cops would give him as much leash as Lubbock and Oxford.

Depending on the situation maybe I could get behind a Wade hire.
