I had a great conversation with someone last night.

I'm going

Stevens, Self, Few, Donovan. But mostly just the first one

I would love everyone of them as far as coaching. But for me Self is every bit as slimy as Wade but Kansas was one of the NCAA darlings so they wouldn’t dare drag them through the mud.

Interesting to see Self’s name brought up again

I’ve heard he may not be thrilled with KU’s big push with football — those are resources not going to bball.

I don’t think he’s likely at all, but he may be worn out with KU… he has been there forever and eventually things get old.

Indiana's AD thinks the same........lol.  IU is an extremely desirable job.  Now IU is trying to decide between a first year D-1 coach, Brad Brownell and Chris Collins......jesus.

Minnesota is a desirable job too.  All of these historically, lower level Big Ten and $EC programs are extremely desirable now due to the revenue sharing.

INDIANAPOLIS — What do Gonzaga coach Mark Few and Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight have in common?

For starters, they both love to fly fish, and Few revealed that he and Knight have had several discussions about coaching over the years – fishing poles involved.

"We've had some great discussions....Just about coaching, in general. I had the opportunity to play his teams (when Knight was at Texas Tech) a couple times. I just try to sit and listen."

So here's a question; is Self slowing down? How would we feel about Bill Self? Call me crazy, but I'm leery of him compared to the others on that list. Confident in Few, but IU would be a much bigger job than he's used to doing.

Think Stevens and Donovan would be obvious home runs.

Donovan is not leaving the Bulls.  He's got a great gig in Chicago coaching a mediocre team with no expectations put on him and a large salary.

Yup. NCAA protected bball schools.  MSU, UNC, Duke, Kansas, etc.

The year Wade and Miller got busted, High Point University got hammered the worst.

This is probably a dead horse, but I just have a hard time with any of these 60+ coaches (Pitino, Few, Pearl, Self, McDermott). I have no doubt they could give you a very good 5-6 year window. But the prospect of doing this again in 5 years is exhausting. It probably means this thread is fired up in year 3-4 with speculation.

I don't know. Maybe that's just the nature of college bball at this point. I would love to see a great candidate with a 15+ year shelf life though.

Mediocre Mike and his blabber confirms how out of touch with reality he really is and continues to be with the entire situation.   I'm sure he has plenty of cash and should consider himself lucky he received whatever buyout was given considering his childish actions a month ago.   He really can't be shown the door fast enough after this season ends IMO.  Move on Mike and PLEASE take that ego with you.

In Woodsons mind he has done a great job. But what he doesn’t get is he is not competing against the big boys. He does a good job of eating the cupcakes though.
