I think the Big Ten used to have a rule that if a player transferred within the Big Ten, he lost his scholarship. I kind of wish they'd go back to that; I have no idea why this has become such a fad in this league.

Illinois is thought to be the favorite to land Ray J. Dennis from Toldeo.  He is visiting them today and Trilly Donovan says this is believed to be the first of three visits scheduled although he didn't say the other two.  Illinois will obviously try to get him to commit before leaving.

In terms of Julian Phillips, one note is that Auburn was close to getting him when he signed with Tennessee last year.  What is unknown is if he would get a waiver from the SEC should he want to transfer there since he entered the portal after May 1st.

Trilly Donovan indicating in a reply that IU likely not getting a visit although IU staff tried to get one.  Am guessing that Dennis will end up at Illinois and Shannon stays in the draft.

Re:  Julian Phillips

Torvik estimates that by adding Chris Ledlum and losing Julian Phillips, they are basically still the same team -- overall pythagareon rating of .9373 and ranked second with Ledlum instead of Phillips, .933 and ranked second with Phillips instead of Ledlum.

We are starting to reach the point where some teams are adding players that are just marginally better than another player and end up seeing players recruited over exiting and the overall change isn't much.

Am I crazy if I like his future better than Dickinson’s? Defense matters and Dickinson is not a + on that side, imo

Quiet day considering the final day.  I do realize some will trickle through over the weekend.  
 

Tomorrow is a big day for Mgbako.  If we don’t get him, gotta wonder where we are going.  Dingle will have every high suitor after him. He is my next favorite option.  I like Julian Phillips potential.  Otherwise I’ll need to start scouring the options.  I’ll be nervous in a hurry if we miss.  
 

But we will have a bag or 2 to throw around.  So we will find out who bites.
