I said 3-4mil last week and heard back from a PU guy that is pretty connected that the number now is closer to 5. I find that hard to believe but what do I know… I think it’s 50/50 he’s outta W Laffytown. I just find it hard to believe he'd leave Purdue...if Purdue couldn't match any offers, I'm sure Smith would give the Boilermakers a hometown discount... cthomas 1 Quote

He probably won’t make NBA money and is looking at what may be the opportunity of his lifetime. If PU has 2mm and the 5mm number being floated is correct (I have NO idea) I’d be very surprised if he passes up an extra 3mm. He might give PU a bit of a discount but they will most likely have to competitive. str8baller 1 Quote

With B1G revenue share they should be able to get competitive with Braden if they want. But like you say…he’s 22 with few pro prospects stateside. Would you pass up an extra $1mil to stay in W Lafayette? I wouldn’t in my professional life. That’s real money. I say 50/50 , because maybe he does give them a discount. Or maybe Purdue throws most of their money at him. Who else do they really have to pay? go iu bb 1 Quote

UCLA has infrastructure problems and for the first year or so of NIL lacked, but last year Mic was able to rally the donors. They no longer have NIL resource problems. They may not be UK, KU, etc. with resources, but it's not bad like it used to be. thebigweave 1 Quote

That’d bother me less if he was actually a good shooter. But he’s not, he’s just a volume shooter. 2) His defense is tied to his offense and when he’s not scoring it’s a problem. But not in the usual way. Most guys like that get lazy when they aren’t scoring, but Luis gets kind of manic and undisciplined. I don’t know what Pitino said after the game the other day but I doubt he subbed him for shooting 1 for a million. I think he subbed him because his defense got unplayable. I just think he’s a hard guy to win with if he’s your best player, and he’ll get paid that way, I just don’t know how that’s gonna go if you’re not a Rick Pitino. Makes a lot of sense... I agree. FWIW this is what Pitino said post game. Q: Rick, you had RJ on the bench for a pretty long stretch at the end was that just because he wasn’t making them or was there something more to it. A: He played 30 minutes. That’s a long time. Reporter: So he was tired? Pitino: No. He played 30 minutes and I went with other people. You already know the answers Roger, you’re asking leading questions. You already know it. So don’t ask leading questions. You already know why he didn’t play. OK. Reporter: Was there one play with RJ that made you sit him the last 5 minutes? Pitino: You know he was 3-17 you know he was 0-3 so you’re answering your own question. I’m not gonna knock one of my own players. Supports both your points about being a shot hunter and it being hard to win with him as your best player when that's not falling. Somebody else can give him the bag. Very excited to see who CDD has us rolling with. AZ Hoosier, lillurk and JF87 3 Quote
