Exactly.  We turned ourselves in, the NCAA just laughed at our stupidity.

And may have had to verify that there was in fact a rule on too many phone calls, then laughed again because we turned ourselves in for that.

And that stupidity cost us years of bad basketball and we still haven’t fully recovered.

I don't think it was the number of calls.  Samson came in from Oklahoma, where he was caught cheating.  As a result he was on probation with restrictions, that included restrictions on using he phone for recruiting.  He tried to get around the ncaa restrictions by having assistant coaches make the calls for him and then turning the class into conference calls.  The guy can coach but he was crooked coming in and even more crooked on the way out the door.  Some didn't care and still don't care.

Personally, I can't put a lot of faith into a Twitter account with 189 followers.  Hope it's true.  Want it to be true.  But until there's confirmation from what I consider to be reliable sources it's just noise.

Can’t put a lot of faith into Twitter accounts in general, ex. Rabjohns

ATTENTION:  We have a Grilling/Smoking Thread.  Thank you.  I'd like to stop drooling all over my keyboard.

Just pulled a ham out of the freezer a couple of days ago and put it in the frig to thaw.  Easy peasy.  To old for all that hard stuff.

Did ribs with a rub and mesquite.  Indirect heat on grill.  Pan of water under the ribs which were on foil.  Smoked them and turned them on about 235 degrees F for 4 hours.  Wrapped them in the foil with applejuice._left them on the grill for another couple of hours.  Drained the juice and grease.  Flamed the ribs a little.  Put a little Kansas/Texas sauce on them.  Meanwhile sipping on a little bourbon.  Just a tad of the bourbon...per sip.  Doctored some pork and beans.  And a green salad with cranberries and red onion and wine vinaigrette.   Local craft amber or more bourbon...wife was starting to look good.  Maybe I didn't phrase that properly.  That was the other day.  Got leftovers.

Easter is fruited flank steak, asparagus sauteed, and family is bringing the wine and after-dinner goodies.  Having an Easter Bonnet challenge.  With prizes.  You would not believe mine.

Georgia is closer to Arkansas than Indiana is, I know, only 2 or 3 hours but that is an extra 4-6 hours his parents don’t have to drive to watch him play

Incorrect. Kennesaw State is in Kennesaw which is right outside Atlanta. Google maps shows this is an 8.5 hour drive to Little Rock while Bloomington is 8 hours.

Sure there's a chance he ends up at Kennesaw State but I'd put that chance as being so small it's 0% for all practical purposes.

Yes, the real "crime" at IU was IU not monitoring Sampson enough ton ensure he didn't do the same thing at IU as he did at OU and then Sampson's attempt to cover it up.

I am sure that no starting slot promises have been made to anyone. The only guaranteed starter for next year is a healthy Xavier Johnson.

Woody: “Again, son, I can see you having a major, major role in our total team effort. Because you are special. But you have to earn it. And you’re gonna have to take a ton of sh!t from Coach Woodson.”

Or: “Son; what do you think your potential is as a Hoosier? Starting and scoring big? Well alright then, but again, you’re gonna have to earn it.”

Along with his history of using a deep bench when it’s performing, it’s a good place to be.

Who cares about any of that? Phone calls.  We’re talking about phone calls

IU screwed IU. Hired a guy that does things. He does things and then we turn him in and offer to light our program on fire.

ncaa says, ok morons, whatever
