You know you’re my ride or die when it comes to coaching changes. :-)

Coaching searches are the best, no one can tell me otherwise. Considering we haven’t made an Elite 8 in 22 years, there hasn’t been much fun lately lol

I am sure that no starting slot promises have been made to anyone. The only guaranteed starter for next year is a healthy Xavier Johnson.

Woody: “Again, son, I can see you having a major, major role in our total team effort. Because you are special. But you have to earn it. And you’re gonna have to take a ton of sh!t from Coach Woodson.”

Or: “Son; what do you think your potential is as a Hoosier? Starting and scoring big? Well alright then, but again, you’re gonna have to earn it.”

I'm sure that's what he's saying, but I'm just as sure there are coaches telling him he could come in and be "the guy".  Major props to Woody imo

Do you think Tamar could avg anywhere CLOSE to 15p 5a 3r in a power 6 conf?

I'd be willing to bet Tamars quality of shot, on average, dwarfed Primos.

For a team that won one conference game?

also think you are putting a lot of stock into calling the ratings a joke based on Bates’ rating.

That was one example, as mentioned. I also mentioned Ware was poorly ranked. And Ledlum, and Sparks. And ... Reeves, he's too high.

Bates only? Nahhhh

You didnt answer the question, though.

What would be the reason to not announce the commitment of it truly happened and he canceled his other visits?

it seems unlikely,
Maybe waiting on the Ledlum visit to end and they can announce together?

If Bates would average 16 points at Georgetown?  I don’t know, probably not.  But he certainly would have gotten a lot of shots there.  But averaging 16 points at a team as bad as Gtown really isn’t that impressive to me, especially when he was a low efficiency player.

you can look at on3’s ratings.  They agree with you that reeves’ ratings is too high by 247.  Ledlum is 38, so about the same spot.  Bates is 72..,.Spears is 78.

Also you’ll get wayyyyy more media traction on a regular week day than a holiday weekend. The program AND players want to be in the news.

Personally, I can't put a lot of faith into a Twitter account with 189 followers.  Hope it's true.  Want it to be true.  But until there's confirmation from what I consider to be reliable sources it's just noise.

Sure he only has 189 followers, but he had 208 views!

The NCAA didn't; IU self reported and self sanctioned, the NCAA laughed said okay then laughed at our stupidity after getting off the phone.

All the crap the NCAA let's slide, they couldn't care less about phone calls, it's even legal now.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.  I want to win, but if we have to cheat to win, I'd rather not win.

That's what everyone said when Samson started making phone calls that were not permitted.  They were only phone calls, right?   Everyone else does it.  The NCAA will never catch us.  Level the playing field, right.  What is a little cheating when it comes to winning championships.  No I do not jest.  IU has always tried to run a clean program and do things the right way.  The NIL and transfer portal are new and there are always cheaters out there.  Some won't be caught.  Some will.  Want to take the chance and run a dirty program?  Not me.  I have some pride in my school.

To be completely transparent here, Sampson screwed the pooch... but the NCAA did NOT "catch us"... we self-reported and fell on our sword... and Clappy was the (apparent) answer to all of our woes.

This is a totally different situation with different (read "quality") people.

Exactly.  We turned ourselves in, the NCAA just laughed at our stupidity.

And may have had to verify that there was in fact a rule on too many phone calls, then laughed again because we turned ourselves in for that.

And that stupidity cost us years of bad basketball and we still haven’t fully recovered.

I don't think it was the number of calls.  Samson came in from Oklahoma, where he was caught cheating.  As a result he was on probation with restrictions, that included restrictions on using he phone for recruiting.  He tried to get around the ncaa restrictions by having assistant coaches make the calls for him and then turning the class into conference calls.  The guy can coach but he was crooked coming in and even more crooked on the way out the door.  Some didn't care and still don't care.

Can’t put a lot of faith into Twitter accounts in general, ex. Rabjohns

ATTENTION:  We have a Grilling/Smoking Thread.  Thank you.  I'd like to stop drooling all over my keyboard.

Just pulled a ham out of the freezer a couple of days ago and put it in the frig to thaw.  Easy peasy.  To old for all that hard stuff.
