Didn't realize he was privy to info about other teams/and or couldn't just come out and say it.

That isn't meant to rude or snippy.

Portal is intriguing.

Would guess it’s telephone — player elsewhere with interest in IU informs the staff of intent to transfer + interest (perhaps through intermediary) and then Chris learns from the IU side

Kaufman thought he was a 3 coming into college. Maybe he knows better now, but I don't think he'd be excited to play the 5.

I had similar thoughts when I read that comment. Part of the reason Miller missed on TKR was because he tried to recruit him as the next TJD but TKR thought of himself as a college 3/stretch 4. So instead of going to IU where he probably would've played, he went to PU where he redshirted, then rode the pine (~11 mpg), and now might have to play center. Ironic.

Not if Chris is putting it in the proper thread. Based on conversations he's putting it in the correct thread but it would be interesting.

My head just exploded

No I don't think were going to get through all of our player's meetings today. Duncomb I don't believe had an end of the year meeting. He knew in February that he wasn't welcome back.

Is Duncomb leaving because he wants to leave or because IU doesn't want him?

In re: Keion Brooks, Jr. Played 3 at UK, transferred, played 1 at Washington. Looks like he could grad transfer and play his COVID year.

He does. He was in the same class as TJD

If Furst wants to come here and be a backup 5.. thats perfect. We'd have a lot of time for him in that role.

I'd start him at the 4/5. He's talented offensively. Would be much different than a TJD/Race duo... I think Malik can take a big step in his 3pt shooting and Furst could be a decent stretch 5. But he's got 2-3 inches on Malik. So he'd probably be the starting 5.

He has 1 inch on Malik... and neither can do anything on the perimeter besides stand there and shoot, and neither are elite at that.. They can't create from there. We need a 4 that can shoot, dribble, drive... etc. We need to be able to run offense through a perimeter oriented 4.

I don't see much difference at all between TJD/Race vs. Malik/Furst..in terms of "playing a different style"... and I'm not saying they can't ever play together, but I don't want that to be our main lineup, no.

Whybdoes Indiana need to run offense through a perimeter oriented 4? When has Indiana ever done that? Whether anyone likes it or not, Indiana has ran through the post more often than not in history. Malik and First can make a jump to being good enough shooters to play together. And if Furst were coming to IU, it wouldn't be to come off the bench behind Malik.

When? Not recently... that also coincides with sucking as a program. Again, it's not the shooting that is the only relative aspect to take into consideration to know if they can play together and if it even helps us to begin with.

What does " Indiana has ran through the post more often than not in history" matter in relation to Woodson/modern basketball and who we need to give us the best chance to win in March?

If Race could have driven the basketball effectively/passed effectively, ala.. Jordan Miller.... it would have opened things up a ton for our offense. He couldn't shoot or drive.... Furst can marginally shoot better, and still can't drive, Malik shoots it... not well and can't drive.

I've seen a couple mentions here of Furst. I don't have time to go through all the  posts -- is he considering leaving the wonderland that is West Lafayette? Or is that just speculation?
