Class of '66 Old Fart

IUBB vs Texas - 12/1/20 @ 1:30 on ESPN

Recommended Posts

Looking over the starting lineup for Texas to compare with our starting 5.

Texas - Indiana

PG:  Coleman III 6'2" - Phinisee 6'1"

SG:  Ramey 6'3" - Durham 6'4"

SF:  A Jones 6'4" - Franklin 6'4"

PF:  Brown 6'9" - Thompson 6'8"

C:  Sim 6'10" - Jackson-Davis 6'9"

Like with the game against Providence we'll need Jackson-Davis and Thompson to play big.  Archie and the front line did a good job with some foul trouble late in the first half but Texas will have the size and athleticism.  Jackson-Davis will have to play big and go up strong against the shot blocker Sims.  If we get another heroic performance from Thompson we can get them in foul trouble.  They do have size that comes off the bench but not much guard depth at all.

Let's freaking go HOOSIERS!!  Let's get this W and move to the championship game in the Maui Invite!

Haven't really dug into TX, but watching them today, only Sims of the starters really impressed me, and he didn't shoot a lot. K. Jones off the bench looked good.

Not sure if we can count on repeat performance like today from Race, but I'd love it if he did. I think TJD will need to step up IMO.

I was pretty impressed today with Phin and Durham too. Race obviously was a beast. TJD was fine, but I expect more I think. The only thing that surprised me was that the bench, and especially the frosh, looked so anemic.

Loaded Team with talent. Guards all highly regarded. Brown could turn into a 1st round pick. Big test.

Yup, just to add on to what @HoosierAloha posted... here's the same with recruiting ratings. Not one starter below 0.98. We have one starter above 0.98 lol....

I know, stars aren't everything, but they aren't nothing either.

And curious... why are the winner's bracket games during the day, and losers in the evening? WTH...

The winners get the hell out of Asheville with 2 E's as soon as possible. I'm sure it's beautiful listening to Bill Walton most of my afternoon, but it's no Maui

Maybe on the last day, but they're all there through the 2nd. Horrible to have the big/best games during the day, and loser bracket during prime time.

AshEvillE is a pretty cool place to be honest. Not as cool as Maui I know, but still.

It's gameday *******!!!

Let's get it done HOOSIERS!!  Another day of playing our game with solid defense, players staying in their role, and knocking down FTs!!  Here's to hoping TJD has a bounce back game where he dominates Texas' bigs and Race continues his hot start!!

Totally. I hope this sparks an annual holiday tournament there. If fans were allowed and times were normal, I'd absolutely be in Asheville for a tournament IU was playing in during the fall. It's a really cool place.
