Our program is way beyond having to worry about one player.  Honestly, if Miller stays .......we are going to be saying the same thing this time next year.  Cut the bad investment and Miller and lets try and right this ship.   I keep hoping the reason Glass is leaving is because he was told they were moving on from Miller after this year and Fred didn't like that so he is leaving...wishful thinking anyway

Glad Knight came back. That was emotional as hell. Great to see the former players get to reunite with coach in front of the fans. Happy for them.

The crowd was absolutely stunned when he came out.

Give us the full rundown buddy. It sounded like the hall got real quiet at first like in shock. Sage had tears rolling down her face sitting next to Cuban and Vitale got all choked up and could talk for at least 30 seconds. Lol. That was a first.

I thought at the time RMK was having an off day. From other video and pics I've seen from other visits, he looked good and alert. I can understand now why Karen felt apprehensive bringing Coach out when he wasn't 'right'. I'm not sure if today was bad because of the attention/pressure/situation or if it was complete happenstance.

He said he's planning to return for his sophomore season. Not surprising. The only way I'd see him leaving would be if he just hated it so much here he wanted out, and I think he's smart enough to realize he can eventually become a draft pick and not have to rot in G-League purgatory.

Our NonCon next year is much tougher. At least we won’t have to wait until B1G to get thrashed and lose our tournament hopes.

Yeah, it's simply not a good situation.  I had said against Ohio State when it was rumored he would be coming and didn't that dementia doesn't take days off.  You can't schedule good days and bad days.  While we all would like to see him for us, I hope that there are times when he is more lucid that he can come around more behind the scenes.

I’ll give you my take on it (disclaimer from row 37)

The students were incredibly engaged; he came out of the tunnel near the student section.

Coach moved just fine, and I sh!t you not, that is the most happy/emotional I have ever seen RMK.

Coach gave bear hugs and kisses on the cheek to many: Stew Robinson, Abernathy, more than a few others.

The crowd was watching him still in the tunnel on the Jumbotron, and the place was incredibly quiet; not “side chatting quiet”. More like stunned and in disbelief as to what they were watching.

There were more than a few tears being shed in the crowd near me.

Pregame I got court side and was chatting up a staffer; she told me that he would watch from a tunnel, come out after all the former players, and then be greeted by the players. It was just like that, but RMK was a bit feistier than they expected.

I’m glad they didn’t give him an arena mike; too high a chance he would have said something so completely inappropriate that would have become the larger story. RMK looked like he wanted an arena mike.

RMK said a total of six words, loudly, to the crowd:

“Defense”

“Defense”

“Defense”, and

”Kick their a$$e$”

My dad had a bad stroke years ago and I understand to some point the situation. If Coach wanted to return on a national game like today or a BTN+ game vs Whatever St, it should've been when he was up to it, heck even let Coach show to practice so that he felt acclimated. It helped a lot of fans/alumni/admin that the hatchet was buried; it just felt rushed considering his health and how he looked today.

It worked. Nothing too embarrassing happened. Besides the game itself.

The fans, the players, and Bob got their closure. I was very worried something terrible would happen.

Knight seemed really emotional at times. I even was emotional and I’m not even a Knight fan. It’s a sad situation.

I’m personally glad it’s over.

I am so  stupid.  My original prediction in prediction league was 70-57 PUke win.  Yesterday I had a senior moment and changed it to an IU win.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I'm resigned to  the fact Archie will get a 4th year unless he voluntarily steps aside.  I'm also resigned to the fact next year is unlikely to be any better than this year.  The product we're putting on the court has become unwatchable.  If they played with passion and heart and still lost it would be one thing.  But this team.....................................

The first question that should be asked of any AD candidate is:  "Did you bring your wish list for our basketball coaching position?"
