As for the redshirt situation, I could be wrong here but I thought Penix got injured last year before hitting that 4 game threshold thus making it an easy decision to redshirt him?

And prior to season start I recall him always harping on competing for a spot and how that was a good thing within the program.  So I'm not so sure he's redshirting folks just to work them in slowly.

Correct on Penix. And word is Penix was going to keep playing/take starting role after that penn state game as coaches were somewhat ready to make a change. But then the good ol ACL. Correct on competing. If you’re good enough and consistent and showing it at practice it’s your spot to lose. I get slowly getting Tiwan in there he’s maybe 170 dripping wet. Then he proved himself when it mattered and he’s now starting weekly as of late. Same with Williams. Two underclassmen taking starting roles from upperclassmen becuase they’ve been consistent.

Well, I was wrong about Allen. He's learned a lot since the Michigan State game and it has us in great position.

I'll eat my crow about Tom Allen. Well done. He turned this season around. It could have gone south after OSU. Really the Penn State game is the only loss I see. They can win the rest to go 9-3. Keep the momentum going.

Winning the 50/50 games is an improvement. Nebraska was one I had on my watch list.

Oh dang your right. Must have misread/misunderstood something.

I think some of these guys talking trash about Brohm, wanted him hired at IU.

Always liked/loved Allen as a man. Starting to appreciate him as a coach. If this season can further propel recruiting efforts we may be on to something.
