Trish Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Langford, the 11th-best prospect on ESPN's rankings, is currently in New York, where he's scheduled to have surgery for a torn ligament in his thumb suffered in late November. The extent of the injury wasn't revealed until the end of the season. "I hurt my thumb right before the Duke game in practice," Langford said. That game was Nov. 27, and Langford said the thumb has been hurting ever since. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/26439940/indiana-freshman-langford-says-enter-draft JaybobHoosier and IUsafety 2 Quote

Popular Post Hoosierfan2017 Posted April 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2019 I'd say the IU fans who called him selfish for not playing in the NIT owe him an apology. He's been playing hurt since November. Andrew_114, BtownStrength, moyemayhem and 10 others 13 Quote
pumpfake Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Best of luck to him. It stinks to have your draft stock harmed by an injury. From a fans perspective it also stinks that both he and EJ couldn't perform up to their abilities in their 1 year at IU because of injury. IUsafety and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote
Popular Post LamarCheeks Posted April 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2019 Reading about his thumb injury makes me realize even more what a whiny fusspot Izzo is. I only ever heard mention of Romeo's' hand a couple times on TV and to be honest, never remember reading about it. And neither he nor Archie never brought it up. And both times we beat Sparty, Izzo started right up at the post-game presser, making excuses about injuries. I have a hard time imagining there was a team out there that dealt with more injuries than we did. On top of all the other crap that went on with Rob and Jerome and Devonte and De'Ron and Race and McBob, our best player had a torn ligament in his shooting hand most of the season -- and yet Archie never once used that as an excuse. I'm tossing any B1G loyalties out the window this weekend and I have three words for you: Go Red Raiders! Hutch89, Deserthoozier, mark1981 and 20 others 22 1 Quote

HoosierFan1994 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Romeo seems like an awesome kid! Wish him well and I hope he has an excellent NBA career. Was the first Mr. Basketball in 7 years to come to IU. I think he also helped in landing TJD. Hope he will be a great ambassador for Indiana. I can't blame him for going pro at all. It is really tough to turn down being a lottery pick. JaybobHoosier and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

KingPG21 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Wish him the best, seems like a legit good dude. Just from a basketball situation I really hope he ends up with a real good coach and on a team that won't be expecting him to come in and be the guy who turns it around. Given where he is generally being mocked I guess Chicago could be that spot? They have a good young group of guys who could use better depth/talent on the perimeter. Him ending up with a situation like Phoenix or Cleveland would suck, would probably be like here where he puts up numbers but the end result doesn't get moved a ton Quote

Don't the rules now state you can even sign with an agent to help with the process but still pull your name and return? I don't think Romeo does this, just thought I heard that somewhere. HoosierTrav Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Good for him and his family. He’s a special talent who, once his hand heals properly, will do very well in the NBA. He’s nearly impossible to stop from getting to the cup. That’s gonna get easier as there is way more spacing and he will be surrounded by plenty of shooters. Looking forward to following him and continuing to root him on. We should be thankful he chose to spend his one season in Bloomington. mark1981, HoosierAloha and ellen.walden 3 Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 It was obvious that Romeo was hurt. The guy was still really good. I know what he would’ve done if fully healthy. Best of luck to him Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I respect him for not mentioning the injury during the season either. He wasn’t about to make excuses. He’s a well minded person. So glad he chose IU for his one season CookHallGymRat, HoosierAloha, Bobman1 and 3 others 6 Quote

So, if Romeo signs he is officially gone. NashvilleHoosier 1 Quote
