Justin Smith has to be a threat to shoot a jump shot or else he won’t be an effective slasher. The reason is that if he isn’t a threat to shoot the 3 or a pull up jumper than his defender will sag off playing constant help side at rim line or in a gap depending on the opposing teams defense.

Huh?

Where should Justin Smith finish when he’s slashing? (I’ll give you a hint, it’s not on the perimeter)

You do understand that slashers start from the perimeter right? Trying to play Smith on the block only is only going to make him fail. More than Hollowell failed while Crean was trying to make him be Watford 2.0.

I believe Crean was trying to make Hollowell Isiah 2.0

Is catching the ball and dunking it more like a post move or a player shooting from the perimeter?

If LeBron James catches it on the block, takes a few dribbles AWAY from the basket, and shoots a three is that a post or perimeter move?

You don’t have the ability to “slash” from the block. Was Shaq considered a slasher? How about Montrezl Harrell? No. But they caught it on the block and dunked it right? What didn’t they do though? Slash. Because perimeter players are slashers. Not post player. But I guess we can start considering them slashers from now on.

Super disappointing result. This team will struggle to score all year. FT percentage is eye popping terrible.

You’re entitled to your opinions, but if a close score during a scrimmage causes you to be “super-disappointed (or for that matter, “super-happy”) you might want to...

Breathe.

I mean, they played without their starting backcourt. Seems they performed pretty well given they didn't have their point guard and their senior captain who is projected as the leading scorer.
