If Arizona plays dirty, why would the #1 player in the country (2017) pass up big $$ to play in his home state to go to the other side of the country and play for Duke.

Duke brought hone 4 of the top 10 from 2017. Other notable programs who got one of the top 10: Arizona, MIZZOU, Alabama.

It's no surprise they all get paid -- I just can't see a kid passing up $$ in his state to go somewhere else for free.

Bagley was never high on Arizona. He moved out of state a year or two ago and never seemed to really consider them at all

Fun fact, Louisville has been the most valuable athletics program in terms of revenue the past few years, if I'm not mistaken.

If they beat out Texas, Alabama, Michigan, or Ohio State I would be shocked. Good thing this won't matter when determining punishment as the NCAA will still get theirs.

I doubt that Porter was paid directly to go to Mizzou. Hiring his father and overpaying him, the same thing Washington did, probably got the job done. But the Bama thing is pretty much textbook.

What are we thinking the total number of coaches fired in this? One minute lieutenant Pitino is out along with 4 assistant coaches and an admin. Does it reach double digit head coaches fired? 20+ assistants? It'll be really interesting to see how far the FBI digs on this one and what/how programs are effected.

So with most of this stuff being done through assistant coaches would it be safe to assume that the head coaches have been having assistants do the dirty work to be able to keep plausible deniability? Or do assistants reveive some kind of bonuses for recruits they land? Hence giving them the motivation to pursue these avenues.

That's the way it's been for years, and a big reason why the NCAA took away plausible deniability as an excuse. The Head Coach is in charge, and responsible for actions of his coaches.

yes...absolutely responsable for his coaches...even if he didn't know what was going on....it's his job to know what is going on in his program....no excuses.

Don't know if it's been mentioned since we heard of his resignation from Bama last night, but Assistant Coach Baker has been found to be "Staff Member - 1" in the federal reports.

Even though the university said it found no evidence of wrongdoing after its internal review, it seems the FBI already has.

I hear a lot of Crean bashing through all of this. He was an awful "in game coach" that much is true, however if we come out of this clean then I think we owe him a lot more gratitude than he's getting. If he in fact did run a clean ship and we have nothing to worry about through all of this then he would be responsible for the opportunity given to IU to make a serious resurgence. Now if there were issues then all bets off and hammer the man. Just think we should lay off the cracks on him for now.

I don't necessarily disagree, but it's a tough line to take while there is still that "if".

At least we may know quickly, since Kenny is already involved. I expect everyone to talk, so if they can talk about you, they will.

I agree. The Kenny Johnson connection scares me as does "he has great connections" Schilling  since he apparently did well recruiting at UCLA and is now on our staff.  A little too early for us to wave victory flags.
