KingPG21 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 So DD was talking about how he'd be behind Matta at IU. The same guy that did a lot to do what he could to put down Archie and the hiring process would be good with Matta...... but yeah this guy is not a troll, he just speaks the truth, am I right DD supporters. Redandyz Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 I am just speculating, but I would think that OSU already has their man to replace Matta locked up. Why else would they have waiting until now to announce Matta's departure? My educated guess is that they'll land one of Holtmann, Mack, or Cronin. I do not see Sean Miller leaving his already elite job/loaded incoming class for OSU, and Crean being in this conversation is a joke. No one, especially a Big 10 team, is going to want him. As an aside, anyone else shocked that Matta is only 49 years old? He's three years younger than Crean but looks like he's in his early 60's. Btownclouds and ThompsonHoosier 2 Quote
AZ Hoosier Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Saw this on Twitter this morning... A waste of time thinking Sean Miller / Shaka Smart r interested in Buckeyes job / get real go after @TomCrean http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/heat-index/2017/06/05/arizona-sean-miller-ohio-state-basketball-thad-matta-resign/371574001/ Quote

My $.02 worth. I'm not saying that FCTC to tOSU will happen... just saw Vitale's tweet and had to pass it along. You make a good point about Harbaugh at UM... also, not sure why tOSU would fire/release/separate from Matta then include him in the process of hiring his replacement, but stranger things have happened... and it's awfully late in the game to be looking for a "forever" coach this year. The timing of the firing/release/separation is strange, IMO. IUsafety, Dalton26 and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

Hovadipo Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 You just know that Matta will at the very least call Archie.Sent from my SM-G935P using BtownBanners mobile appHe seems classier than that. Quote

Sent from my SM-G935P using BtownBanners mobile app No, he won't. Archie Miller just signed a long-term contract to be the head coach of a blue blood B1G basketball program. Because of this, he is pretty much the least available coach in the entire country. Betcha can't name many big-time coaches that are less available than Archie Miller. I'd guess Popovich, Coach K, Calipari, Pitino, Roy, Self, Izzo, Steve Kerr are currently less available. I'm sure that there a few more that could be added to the list, but that's about it. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Would Stevie Alford jump the UCLA ship for OSU to get back to the midwest? Just thinkin' out loud. Quote

8bucks Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 OSU is a bit of a mess right now. Long term it can be an attractive job but short term they don't seem to have a lot of pieces in place to win quickly. Quote

Definitely possible. Then, they would lose to Penn State or Rutgers. It's what Crean does. WayneFleekHoosier, woodenshoemanHoosierfan, GloryDays and 7 others 10 Quote
