Anybody else look for TJD behind the MSU bench last night??? They panned to their bench quite a bit to show crybaby Izzo and I never saw TJD once. Maybe he left once the drubbing began...

I don't think TJD was behind the bench. I was at the game in the front row of the 2nd level right above MSU...had a good view, and he and Brooks (and another recruit) were in the corner opposite of the MSU bench.  Also, yes, Izzo's whining is insufferable, but not as much as their entitled fans.  The MSU section looked like they were doing the YMCA the whole night. They expect to get calls. They expect to be treated the way B1G refs treat them. Kansas should have stepped on their throat and won that game by 30 but they benched their starters for long periods of time.  I'm sick of MSU and how they swept all the allegations under the rug and came out "clean" again. Such a joke.

Can’t blame him for wanting to see his options. He has three really good choices. A lot can happen between now and April (recruits, transfers, early entries to the draft). I’d love to see him at IU (still think he ends up here. Alford gets canned and MSU has a loaded frontcourt) but we can’t rely on one player-I think everyone knows that. Under the previous regime we’d have a really good season and collapse the next year. I really love this Freshman class and add Al and Justin into the mix and you have a great core.

Not looking forward to going through all of this again like the Langford recruitment. At least we had 4 other commitments when Romeo pulled the trigger. Not many backup plans remaining. CAM will have to start scrambling.

I’m on record saying I’m not as optimistic about this recruitment as most. I don’t think he has been as much of an IU lean as people have claimed. Hopefully I’m wrong but my gut has been telling me he’s headed elsewhere for some time now.

Do you guys know why Alonzo Gaffney committed to OSU so early? Because hes an OSU fan like every other kid in that state. None of these Indiana kids are previous IU fans.

2019 Francis was offered by OSU early. He was such a fan of his home state school that he committed to North Carolina 3 days after he got a North Carolina offer

Okay well we still got four of the six guys you listed, and are in the hunt for the other two.

At the end of the day I guess if some feel the need to get upset because he needs or wants more time to decide then by all means show your anger towards a 17 year old kid making a choice. 5 star top 15 recruiting battles can be a 12 round fight. Luckily for us when Archie took the job during his speech he said his staff would dedicate themselves to high school coaches and the recruits of the state and they must feel dominating by Indiana University. That’s all us fans can ask for is a coach dedicated and willing to go the full 12 rounds in a heavyweight recruiting battle.
Archie and staff have done everything possible in this recruitment in my opinion
They kept their promise from the start and developed a great relationship with TJD. So much so that from June 27, 2017 when they offered until his official visit in September IU got a top 15 5 star kid on campus unofficially 8 times (one of those times sitting behind the bench with Phinisee)and never missed one of his summer games. I call that dominating. Not once did this staff let up or stop recruiting him (MSU did for a little period during summer evaluations).
While most “insiders” have said this recruitment was close to being over not once did TJD say this. In fact in one of his last interviews with the Indy Star or rivals he stated he wanted to watch how Izzo coaches without Jackson and bridges and how Archie does with his own guys. Hard to watch these teams play if you sign with a team early. He said he wouldn’t go as long as Romeo but there was a possibility he won’t sign early. Well looks like he decided not to sign early. So I’m sure Archie and staff will still recruit him as hard as he did when he first started. IU is in great position with a top 15 5 star

Not once since the post earlier linking the new story about the decision timeline has anyone directed any negative comments towards TJD. We understand the game. Just disappointment in the timeline.
