This was obviously fake news.  But Grantland isn't necessarily all fake news.  It's by a contributor "Spike Friedman."  Also funny that back in 2013 Crean got lumped in with "all the best coaches."

You can say whatever you want about FCTC as a coach but man I respect the hell out of him. To put that tweet out is so big of him. I hope as we move forward, the fans and program understand what he did for us. I’m glad we have Archie and it was definitely time for FCTC to go but that won’t change how thankful I am for his contribution to our program.

Crean knows how to work the narrative. Maybe it was sincere, maybe it wasn't, but if you want everyone to see you as a good guy that's the kind of tweet you'd send out.

I retired from a management position, versus fired from, and purposely did not return to visit or stay in touch to give my successor an opportunity to establish himself as the manager without my shadow hanging over him. You retired, not caring about bridges. He's still looking for work. He needs to maintain professionalism. In that regard, kudos to him.

Damon Bailey at practice today and Rabjohns saying more former players are continuing to spend time around the program.  I know FCTC tried very hard to reach out to former players but it did seem to have fairly limited results.
