I'll assume TB and JBJ are gone. Newkirk/Green at the point. Rojo at the 2. DD pounding the paint (after an off-season of conditioning, which only makes him better) JM at the 4. ? Smith fills in at the 3? That's not terrible for a starting 5.

Just need them to play as a team and buy in on defense.

(Correct me if I forgot someone or u think someone else could start. It's all fun. It's Miller Time!)

Hartman will start if we lose TB and JBJ

If TB tries to leave, and I wouldn't be shocked if he did, we will really be lacking in size and size depth. Clifton Moore would help most in that case.

True but while he is 6'10", both he and his coach said not to expect him to bang down low with the bigs in college.  He's more of a perimeter player, probably tries to emulate Kevin Durant like every other skinny 6'8"+ kid.

I'm hoping that can be fixed with some attitude re-adjustment and offseason workouts because I'd like to see him on our roster.

Not with 3 NLI's still technically signed.

True. I think the ideal scenario would be to lose OG and Gelon and add Smith and Durham. Balances out the classes a bit and makes this team super dangerous next season

Proud of all these guys. They're doing everything they can to fulfill their dreams. It sickens me when our own fans crap all over the players for wanting some feedback. I'm already seeing it on twitter and now on here. You guys would be doing the exact same thing in their position.

What those people don't realize is that it has the potential to help IU out if JBJ, RoJo, and TB all get high quality feedback and are able to use it to improve their games over the course of another season.

I know every player has a right to test his draft status -- and I'm cool with that. But I can't help but chuckle when I see that four dudes from an 18-16 team that finished 10th in its conference and lost its only NIT game have declared for the NBA. Cracks me up!

It shouldn't crack you up. All four have the talent to possibly make the NBA one day so why not get feedback. It just goes to show how poorly coached these guys were. Honestly I'm shocked that Morgan didn't declare without an agent too just to get the feedback. There is no harm in declaring without an agent to get feedback. You can't get it or workout for teams unless you declare. It's kind of like a practice interview. Anyone would be silly not to do it even if they don't have much of a shot. I hate using Calapari as an example (just threw up in my mouth a bit) but he stated he that he encourages everyone of his kids to declare without an agent to get feedback.

But it does crack me up. It really, really does.

Reading some of these responses about the guys testing the waters makes me want to rip my hair out.

There are some incredibly ignorant and uneducated takes out there. People need to understand what "declaring for the draft" means now with the new rules. Literally every kid with any pro talent (NBA or overseas) should declare and get feedback. The new rules are meant to favor the student athletes and these guys are taking advantage of those rules.

People who dont follow iu basketball or college in general dont know about the the new rules and when they here they are declaring in their minds then those players are gone. Just ignore social media idiots you have to now days if you plan on keeping your sanity lol

I think a lot of people (like the ones spazzing out on Facebook) don't understand the new rules so when they see kids 'declaring for the draft' they automatically assume that they're leaving college. They don't know that players can declare to get feedback so they freak and make loud noises on social media.

So is that promise something they can and do go back on? Say the Celtics like him at 27 or wherever they end up in this draft, work him out, and fall in love and promise to take him there, but they're the only team doing that. He falls out of the 1st and into obscurity when he was promised a guaranteed contract. Is this a thing too?

From what I know, teams typically stick to the promises. If I remember correctly, the reason the Sixers took Larry Hughes over Paul Pierce and Nowitzki was because they gave Hughes a promise never thinking either of those two guys would fall to 8.

If teams routinely went back on these promises it would really impact their relationship with agents, partly because it's arguably deceitful, but also because a lot of times guys will shut down workout with other teams.

Probably. Or how delusional the players were. I think it makes sense to test the process but the mock drafts are a pretty accurate portrayal of where you stand as a player. It's not too difficult to figure it out.

Except if you can go to the combine and impress! It's free professional advice. I would go to the combine and see what they have to say. Then you know what you can work on with another year of college! Makes sense
