That's an alternate smaller on campus arena. I'm sure if IU had a smaller on campus arena they would jump at that and the new replacement for U-Gym would be an ideal solution starting in 2020 when it opens for this situation. However, right now IU has no where on campus you can host a basketball game at this moment besides Assembly Hall. Certainly being at U-Gym and the Field house a ton I can tell you those cannot host basketball games anymore. Neither can Wildermuth.

Have it in the old upstairs hper gym! that would be lit!

Two things about that HickoryHoosier thing:
The options aren't running dry. It's March 13. At some point Crean would have to realize he has to put his name in more than just the NC State/Missouri pool.
Secondly, I don't believe for a second that players/staff wouldn't make the trip to Atlanta.

I could be wrong, and maybe there's a reason, but I don't remember seeing OG on the bench for the conference games.

I'm hoping that it will all just be a matter of  since we got into the NIT and therefore our season continues, Glass isn't going to say anything until they lose and season officially ends just as a respect to Crean thing wanting to coach his players. Once we lose the game and our season is officially finished, Glass comes out and says Crean is gone. As far as making the NIT game an away game, I'm hoping THAT is showing that Glass, once again out of respect to Crean, wants to play away from Assembly Hall to avoid Crean's potential last game of the season beinf one filled with 5,000 booing fans at your own place. Although, it is quite ridiculous at the same time for him to make it an away game knowing we could have groups of fans attend who normally couldn't make a trip to Assembly Hall for a game with their families. Putting that aside though, maybe it's just all about Crean's last experience with the team and the environment he would have to encounter (even though that does look "cowardish"). Hopefully once we do lose, he just comes out and officially says Crean is done.

If he's right, then Glass needs fired yesterday.  He makes it sound like Glass is hoping for a 'soft landing' for Crean to leave to avoid the backlash he would receive for not firing the guy; it would mean Glass is concerned with the best interests of Tom Crean and not Indiana basketball.

As ive always said they are joined at the hip. Its about whats best for crean in freds book. I was spot on.

I'm really hating Fred Glass right now. The only way I could trust him again is if he hires a big time coach

I don't think he would.  I'm not sure he would even try to get a big time coach.

We're talking about a guy that hired a football coach that with a total of 5 years coaching experience (3 a position coach) after not conducting an actual search.
