And yes, they were rightfully top 5 in early December, and no, losing Anunoby has not made that much of a difference. Normally teams get exposed as frauds for the preseason hype they received, but this IU team earned every bit of praise beating KU and UNC. And now? I know that Crean has his flaws as a coach and I've called him out on them over the years, but this is embarrassing by even that benchmark. I wasn't really that aware during the end days of Davis so this is the first time I've watched this type of deal unfold and it's so weird. The players will grow from it and be better because of it. It'll be interesting to follow all of the off-season storylines. I just wish we had an alpha dog on this team who wouldn't put up with this. This isn't the first time Crean has had chemistry issues. Two things that factor into that are favoritism and the joke of a theory that "everyone's a leader." It's just not how the world turns.
