Then why did OSU and others announce that they were keeping their coaches. It's just what happens when people in administration respond because other people start to speculate there could be a change. You kind of sound like the Indy media did when people were speculating what Jim Irsay was going to do with the Colts. He said nothing until he made a change. Whoozhers Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Justin Smith should be pretty good. He's not a program changer or anything but he'll be solid. All 3 of our recruits seem like they'll be solid in years 3 and 4 but I don't think they'll move the needle much next year. You know, I think we need to give CTC credit finding OG & Juwan. They weren't highly touted and he saw talent in both of them. They each had a pretty darn good freshman year. But, they and TB took to giant steps backward this year. I don't get it. Was it coaching? Bad team chemistry? What ever it was ...... This past year sucked badly.Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Hoosierfan2017 1 Quote

I didn't stop being a fan this year but I no longer made it a point to watch or record their games. Several times they played games and I completely forgot about it. I am not impressed by the product on the floor. It seems to be the same thing every year. Don't value the ball, poor fundamental defense, and terrible shot selection. I Don't long for the days of Bob Knight anymore but man...do we have to be so poor at the fundamentals??? If Donovan can be persuaded to come to coach Indiana I'd love it but if not I think I prefer Marshall. He seems to have fundamentally sound teams and does it with something less than the best talent. He may have hit a few less 3s but he is much improved around the hoop and especially rebounding. Bryant absolutely took a step back other than a decent 3 point stroke. OG, I'd say he was on par with the prior year (like against UK in tourney) but not enough to make a real call. He definitely isn't the superstar ESPN would make him out to be YETSent from my SCH-I545 using BtownBanners mobile app Deserthoozier and woodenshoemanHoosierfan 2 Quote

Fred Glass has announced absolutely nothing and every IU fan is freaking out just like Colts fans when Irsay wasn't saying anything. Hopefully Fred thinks the same way that Irsay did and makes a change. Or Fred could be thinking that IU gets a good NIT seed he and Tommy can celebrate with a lifetime extension. Yeah the extension is probably the most likely option of the two. But Irsay didn't get rid of Coach Pagano, and looking less likely Glass fires Crean. Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 That is exactly my thought on it.No sorry but you guys are wrong about that. Glass made an announcement two years ago when it wasnt close to this bad. The Bama rumors were but not like the Mizzou ones, so that alone will make an announcement. Anytime the fan base is this way and all the other rumors it makes it very easy for Glass to know he needs to say something or everyday he will be hounded about him coming back or not. Say he stays through the tourney. The buyout changing in July will keep people still wondering until then even. He absolutely has to say something and knowing 10 other schools have done so and most didnt even fire their coach he will feel the same need to. I would bet a lot of money that an announcement happens. Idk bout good or bad one but it will.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

No but he did move on from Grigson as GM. That's what I was refering to. After that happened he gave Pagano a vote of confidence. Quote
Popular Post HoosierTrav Posted March 12, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 12, 2017 Even though I knew we weren't going to make the tournament, it still stings pretty bad. Indiana, with all of the resources available, should rarely ever miss the field of 68. I can't support this team any longer, with Crean as the coach. You can call me a fair weather fan all you want but I watched every single game that man has coached at Indiana, through the good and the bad. I've bought merchandise, tickets, B1G network packages, additional packages when games weren't on the B1G network, etc. Glass' decision here is going to decide whether I support the program going forward. Up to this point in time, all we've been given in return is lip service. The program is not entitled to my money, viewership, and overall support. Indiana basketball is currently one of the least equitable investments I'm making, in both dollars and time/energy spent. I hope Glass shows me (and many others) that he truly means what he's said in the past about returning Indiana basketball to it's elite, blueblood status. I don't believe I'm asking for much. All I require to continue my support is a change. Any change. Anything other than bringing Crean back, will cause me to continue my support. KingPG21, brandct, Chris Nieman and 17 others 20 Quote
