Popular Post hoosierpap Posted March 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 7, 2017 Before the collective panic ensues, I'm not say IU has Alford lined up by any means...I'm just saying if Alford had his way that would be the case. I thought that was pretty well known. I do think its safe to assume there has been or will be a conversation in due diligence if IU were to strike out some places but that is an assumption...I guess. Also, when someone posts something like that shoot us a PM. When you quote it we have to go through and find all the quotes...longer it's up, more trouble it is CR3AMnCR1MS0N, Tom White, hsrtxp and 5 others 8 Quote
RobPoff Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I'd actually love alford. Lock down in-state recruiting. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appCan someone please explain how Steve Alford would lock down in-state recruiting? I'm flabbergasted by this statement every time I see it. High school kids don't know him or what he did as a player. They will see he's coached for 25+ years and see he's only been to 3 Sweet 16's. Great players don't always make great coaches and recruiters. Can someone who supports the "Alford would lock down Indiana" help me understand where you're coming from?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Dankomite, Bccanada19631, thebigweave and 2 others 5 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Exactly. Alford isn't a good X's and O's coach either. This would not be the hire to take us up to the next step at all. As for all this news, it appears that Alford is making a push for the IU job. thebigweave 1 Quote
HoosierRob Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 It wouldn't be the end of the world for me on Alford. He's better then crean imo. ALASKA HOOSIER, CR3AMnCR1MS0N, Josh and 1 other 4 Quote

HoosierRob Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 His teams don't play defense so that would for sure be a negative. woodenshoemanHoosierfan and Feathery 2 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app I'd imagine it would stem from his recruiting success at UCLA. He landed Kris Wilkes this year. As someone mentioned above, Ed Schilling would probably stay on the staff and be greatly beneficial for AAU relations in the state. That's what I'm guessing other people are thinking. I am not in favor of Alford. Donovan, Bennett, both Millers are in front of him in my list. IU402, pumpfake and Kepner 3 Quote

So much so that he voluntarily refunded part of his salary/bonus $$. This year he is 28-3. Seat is downright chilly when that happens. CR3AMnCR1MS0N and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
Popular Post Dalton26 Posted March 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 7, 2017 I wont ever not be an IU fan, but if Crean was brought back for some reason I wouldnt watch an IUBB game until he was gone. Its a good thing we are a football school though so Ill still have something IU related to watch. thebigweave, Dizz, VO5 and 9 others 12 Quote

Chances are next year's team will be worse. Then he really hurts his chances landing a decent job. It's best for both parties to split now. My first memories as a human are at Assembly Hall for god sakes. And also pissing my dad off for repeatedly asking him to go to the bathroom. When IU fired Knight I was in high school and it was like a family member died. I was inconsolable. All of my family pets were named after former IU bball players (it is worth noting that my tabby cat named Calbert was mentally challenged and shortly died while still a Kitten). But i digress. No matter what i will still rock the Cream and Crimson. However, if the administration can't see that basketball is the flagship sport, of the flagship school in the state, and not want to be as successful as possible then i'm at a loss. TetKale Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I haven't been around here long enough to know all of the history on "The Janitor" or other members ... I'm trusting those who trust them .... and I firmly believe Crean is gone the day after their final loss .... However, if they happen to be wrong, and Crean is the coach next season .... instead of switching allegiances .... watch IUBB quietly if you want, but whaddya say we all buy season tickets to IUWBB and rock that place every home game? mark1981, Str8Hoosiers, hsrtxp and 3 others 6 Quote
