HoosierTrav Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Twitter has brought me here to the promise land. I havent ever even been on here till now just see the post topics on twitter. I come from our rivals message board. IU is not getting close with Donovan and probably doesn't....this year. Insider info he has no plans on jumping ship right now in the middle of a season let alone abandon a team before playoffs. He is talking about coming after next year after he knows the direction the Thunder plan on taking. The Dane Fife rumor is true for the Donovan reasons. They plan on offering him a one year deal to hold the spot for then Donovan to take over. That or keep Crean is being talked about. Crean leaving for another job talk has been because of this. He knows he is a stopgap if anything and is openly interacting with a few programs. Georgia is the school he is really interested in not Missouri or NC State. He hates our fans enough but at least we have a reason to believe we are good. NC State is the same thing just not the good part. Fife is questioning whether he would do it because he has no chance of staying but IU would make him the associate head coach and pay him handsomely once Donovan got here. Donovan is not a sure thing and if he decides to say no completely than IU will make Archie Miller and Tony Bennett offers. They are also considering Sean Miller and he is listening through back channels due to his midwest ties. He may have went to Pittsburgh, but he loves this area. It is said we actually want Archie more. Alford as much as know one wants to hear may be contacted and two names to keep an eye on are Mike White and Tim Jankovich. Glass loves both, but a firm is taking the search over. If the search's main guys don't come Glass goes after his guys. I know this is quite a bit and none will believe a word I say and I don't really care. I see the post on twitter and I feel bad that you guys are left not knowing a thing about our beloved program. I won't name my sources, but it might as well be Glass himself considering the closeness of the person. I will end it with this and it may not be good news obviously it isn't but Crean can save this job, but no extension is given regardless so breathe if he does come back, but I will also say Crean is most likely gone and it won't be by being fired unless Crean can find the job he wants. It would take a win in the tourney to even make the adminstration think about keeping him. Not happening. Have a good night Hoosier Nation and your welcome. I don't have much faith in him doing that either, but at least there's a chance he gets it right and we become a top program again. That's better than what we've got going for us right now. yogisballin Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Definitely hurts the cause a little. Team reportedly upbeat, Crean still recruiting, etc. Every little bit goes into it. Glass won't want to make a move unless he has to make a move. I continue to think Crean gets another year. It's logical when looking at the numbers and Glass's expectations. That's why we needed a monumental collapse. (And we've had it mostly)Sent from my iPad using BtownBannersI'm with ya on this Fleek! And that's extremely hard to swallow right now. 3 now 4 seasons overdue! Yet another game this season that I couldn't watch. I stopped before 1st TV timeout in 1st half and I absolutely hate that feeling Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Can't let one guy hold you hostage. You make this supposed move and what if he changes his mind? If you're coming you come now or move the f on. I know he's the 1st or 2nd choice but even with BS you can't let them hold the program hostage. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Exactly. What if IU goes in this direction and then for some reason Louisville, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, etc. need a coach in a year? Nothing to keep BD from choosing one of those programs and leaving IU in a really awkward position. Quote

Hickory Hoosier doesn't merely say "gone", he also says "very mutual."Guys... HE GONE._______________________ALSO:The board has neglected to consider a point that CTC brought up last night: with Meghan Crean graduating from IU, the Crean family will not have any of their kids at IU next fall if they make a break this year. Trish Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I would like to know how Crean's daughter has graduated already? She was just a freshman last year.. I have a feeling he's talking about his little one, Ainsley who is graduating from St Charles I assume. Then again, I haven't seen the video of Crean talking. TheWatShot Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Let's be real, a coach is never going to say he's interested in a job but will take it next year. That's complete nonsense. So many things change in a year, and college basketball is the best example of that. Tom White 1 Quote

Nothing to keep BD from choosing one of those programs and leaving IU in a really awkward position.I just don't understand this logic of selling the program short. I've seen it a lot. No coach is going to take the IU job and jump ship for another because IU is a destination job. I don't care to hear about the drought IU is a competent coach away from competing for titles again. That's why IU will be the number 1 job opening. Crean has done one hell of a job stabilizing the program to hand it off to the next guy, THE guy.
