Only difference is he and others don't seem to realize is that those coaches have all made it further than Crean in the past five years. Another example was Kevin Ollie and how uconn is struggling so bad but then he fails to mention he won a NC two or maybe three years ago. HTD has a screw loose lol. That guy would literally jump off a bridge for Tom Crean. Frankly, they can both jump for all I care Quote

I'd LOVE to hear what he really thinks. From the sounds of things, it has snuck out on radio broadcasts a few times through frustration. Beachfront Property Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 A question on Crean's buyout - According to tomcreanbuyout.com Crean's buyout drops from $4 million to $1 million on July 1. The national championship game ends on April 3. Can we wait 3 months to fire Crean in order to save $3 million? How could this work? Quote

Easy-peasy: With a mutually agreed upon parting of the ways in April for $1.2 million. Edit: Or, as others have noted, with a $200,000 "relocation allowance" as incentive to leave a little early, even if he makes up the salary somewhere else. Bottom line; CTC's agent can make it work easily. Beachfront Property and 8bucks 2 Quote

His buyout his paid out over a period of time and anything he makes at his new job is deducted. So if it comes out to, hypothetically, to 1.5 million/year and he gets a new gig paying 1.5 then IU owes him nothing. Quote

Now, I know Thomas has disappointed this season, but goodness, if you can't get him the ball to shoot, there's no opportunity for him to play well. Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else get annoyed when people say "we're missing 3 starters" as an excuse? Crean has used 3 guard lineups most of his time at IU and OG and Hartman both play the "4" in Crean's offense. Chances are they wouldn't both be starting if they were both healthy. OG hadn't even really been starting before he tore his ACL. Just look at how Crean used Morgan and OG this season to get an idea. There were very few games where Crean went with a 2 guard starting lineup and started both of them. reconmkd 1 Quote

At some point, the eyeball test has to be applicable; and someone has to see the clown show going on in Bloomington. We are so far removed from what I know as Indiana Basketball, it makes me very sad. Ryno6284, hsrtxp, reconmkd and 2 others 5 Quote

We can always turn off a game or skip it altogether, but he's stuck there. And he's had to do this for years. Awhile back (early in Crean's tenure or maybe even before it) I thought I saw that he was chastised for being "negative" during his broadcasts, or at the very least implying that he didn't like what he was seeing, and was told to knock it off because it wasn't what people wanted to hear. So now he harps on things like injuries and whatever excuses Crean comes up with. I could totally see him talking about how the injuries have hurt this team and how things will get better and Crean just needs more time, then during a commercial break, taking off his headset, throwing it on the table and saying "when are we finally going to fire this clown?"
