Popular Post cthomas Posted May 2 Popular Post Posted May 2 The casual fan still thinks pre-Cig IU football. Anyone who watched the games last year saw an entirely different animal. They were tough, disciplined, talented, and relentless. In all my years watching IU football, dating to the late 50's, last year was the most enjoyable and it's not even close. I'm so looking forward to the start of another great year. ALASKA HOOSIER, Home Jersey, thebigweave and 7 others 9 1 Quote

Aside from the Joe Huff days, last year's team was the most fundamental football team I've seen wear the Cream and Crimson. And we're basically getting the same coaching staff from last year that will be coaching upgraded players. This year we'll probably get a lot more closer games. There's 4 (Illini, at Iowa, at PSU, at Ducks) games on the schedule that will be dawg fights. And the cat's out of the bag, there's no chance a school is ever going to overlook IUFB anymore. We'll be in some battles this season for sure. ALASKA HOOSIER, IUHoosierJoe, Naturalhoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

Wow it only does he project Mendoza as the 4th overall pick but also as the first QB picked!! That would be awesome for the program/perception/image etc and add yet another “look what I do with QB’s” aspect to Cigs arsenal. thebigweave and cthomas 2 Quote
Popular Post Demo Posted May 4 Popular Post Posted May 4 Cal WR Jonathan Brady transferring to IU. Caught 74 for 1010 yds and 7 td’s from Mendoza over the past 2 seasons. Based on size(5’10” and 180) and yards per catch I assume he’s a slot guy. 1 year left. Crimson and Cream, Napleshoosier, Class of '66 Old Fart and 7 others 10 Quote

We continue to level up the recruiting battles we are winning. 2. Obviously it's nice he already has the connection/chemistry with Fernando. To be a trusted destination for QBs and other players with NFL aspirations would be amazing. And really it's already happening -- Miami and Georgia (and Mizzou among others) were recruiting Fernando hard. While our NIL/rev share has improved, those two schools can offer more than us. Yet, he chose the emerging superpower in Bloomington. The progress IUFB has made in 18 months is just incredible. It was only about 18 months ago we were rock bottom taking 4OT's to beat Akron at home. go iu bb, Hoosier987, cthomas and 1 other 4 Quote

He was a beast and in my opinion was one of the best to come out of Castle HS back on the 82 Indiana State Champion team Lebowski 1 Quote

They paid Ballou and Rhea handsomely and when they took off for Bama, went out and grabbed Wellman who was far from cheap. Hopefully we don't have to replace Owings for a long time. Pagoda Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Good interview with Greg McElroy who knows Cig since they were at Bama together. Touches on recruiting (some committed just not announced yet) and thoughts on next year’s team. One stand out funny quote that also is indicative of IUFB culture: "I'm not worried about keeping them happy, they have to keep me happy." https://youtu.be/vO-uStaDU7M?si=0FK69UzkfKPupYmw MemphisHoosier, cthomas, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Pagoda Posted May 15 Posted May 15 It appears the bison mascot is official. I'm looking forward to this, I think fans like the bison (everyone loves mascots) and it fits with Cig's IUFB. See teaser video below: https://x.com/IUHoosiers/status/1923015512327586292 I also like the media IU has been doing with the bison, good stuff, example from earlier this year: Demo, Jeff Flabjohns, MemphisHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
