Would Mendoza be on all of these early lists had he stayed at Cal? CSP 1 Quote

He’s got great tools and was on draft boards before he committed here, but the projection certainly seems to be based on the combo of his tools and Cig and co. southsidehoosier, Class of '66 Old Fart, CSP and 6 others 8 1 Quote

But some just can't help themselves, like this schmuck from a USC site: Big Ten picks, has IU at 6-6. A 10-2 season this year would be more impressive than last year, imo. "Exposed in the playoff" OK kind of like Oregon? We get dinged for the playoff performance but no credit for the wins. We beat a team you have going 9-3 by 50 points (Nebraska). southsidehoosier, thebigweave and Hardwood83 3 Quote

Based on our OSU/ND performances were we truly a threat to win it all? No, we were not, but you could say that same thing about 8 or 9 of the teams in the playoff. We 100% earned the right to be in the playoff. Tennessee got curb stomped 42-17 vs OSU, and was NEVER in the game, but how many “Tennessee was exposed in the playoff” comments are in the webverse? Virtually zero. Let’s prove it on the field again this year!!! go iu bb, thebigweave, Pagoda and 2 others 3 2 Quote

Btw, Sorsby leaving was a good thing, he runs well, but can't throw....at all. It's a pathetic scheme. He's better than Tayven, by example. We would run rule both Cinci and Nebraska, though. Quote

Pretty nuts when the first major "name" to allegedly go portaling (Leavitt) immediately is getting penciled in as IU's next starter by non-IU people online. Right, wrong, indifferent it's just a wild perception shift. Home Jersey, Pagoda, DChoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 In today's environment you have to look at every player as a 1-year rental. Bring in a Leavitt and Alberto could decide to shop around. Just the way it is today. thebigweave, Stuhoo, Napleshoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

I like Alberto my big thing is we have had success with experienced QBs do we change up the formula? If so we basically won’t be able to recruit freshmen QBs. Do we change up the formula though. Smart, tough, the most ideal teammate. He will be greatly missed. Coach Cig knows ball, but he has a tough decision to make next year on if Alberto can be the guy. I think the formula of finding the 6’5” guy that has the skill set and mentality out of the portal is hard to ignore especially as our ability to hand pick the guy increases.
