This Eastern European team is pretty good!

I'm sure there's learnings from the tape for the staff and players, but as a fan I'm flushing this one and looking ahead to Purdue after 5 days to rest and game plan. We've beaten them once this year. We can do it again

Seems like Hyperbole. I’m no Woody fan but I’d take him over Archie any day. Archie was a better hire on paper by a mile but is an awful coach. O fer against Purdue is ridiculous.

The Illini weakness is against lateral and driving quickness. But when they shoot well and rebound against a small team it’s a tough matchup. I’m pretty damn happy with how we’ve hung in there so far, all things considered.

If Branham was playing at one of the factories he’d be consensus top 15 in ‘27 already. And he still may end up that way. Getting an early commitment from that kid was a straight steal.

IMO he has shown enough flashes for me to believe he can be a productive starter next year with a healthy and focused offseason. Just gotta get more consistency out of him. We really need him, Miles and Sisley to take a big step this offseason. Finances get tricky quickly if you try to flip 5 or more roster spots IMO.

Much better matchup against Purdue…but if this game doesn’t tell you the need for size this off season, don’t know what will. DeVries has to get some size in portal.

Yea…@UM and @Illinois were circled as “lost causes” basically because of the matchup issues. We played pretty bad on offense and could’ve made it closer, but that’s about it. Flush this one and move on.

Needed to be a lot better than 5 of 22 from deep to have any chance in this one.

Let’s see if we can have a great first five minutes of the second half. If we do we’ve got a puncher’s chance in probably our toughest matchup on the schedule. If not? Not a big deal because it looks like this IU team has found its identity.

This one is gonna be tough even if we play relatively well. When the tallest team in D1 is shooting lights out at their home gym it’s a very tall task.

On QB evals I’ll never get why the arm talent data point isn’t essentially binary. When people talk about this kid not having “elite” arm talent, what are they actually talking about? What throw in an NFL playbook has he not demonstrated that he can make comfortably? Watched 4 Oregon games this year and I really need the explanation for why Moore has “elite” arm talent and Mendoza’s has “good” arm talent.

Woody was without a doubt one of the worst hires ever If you had polled the other P4 schools and asked if they would have interviewed him for an assistant spot I doubt you would have found anybody to say yes. But we handed him the HC spot. Coaches are like recruits if nobody else wants them it’s probably a sign. QB danced on the court after going undefeated. And he danced on IU basketballs grave when he hired Woody.

Style of play is overrated if you win. It worked fine for Tony Bennett. McCollum has had a good first season, we will see in the long run.

Somewhere south. The kid played at a school in, I think, Nashville last year. Also has a brother who’s a giant Mongoloian kid who I thought was at LaLu as well but he’s not on the bench for this game.
