  3. The PSU podcasters are throwing in the towel as well. For us old-timers this is hard to process. Welcome to the new world order.

  4. The Daily Hoosier - Before the season ESPN's FPI model gave IU a 17.3% chance to beat Penn State. It now gives the Hoosiers an 82.7% chance.

  9. There was a PnR play at the top of the floor early in the 2nd half the other night with Conorway and Bailey. It was perfect, Bailey rolled and got a wide open dunk. The floor was spaced with DeVries and Wilkerson on opposite wings and Enright spread out too. All I could think about was that Woodson would have run that PnR with non-shooters on the wing and most egregiously another big sitting on the opposite block completely clogging the lane. Probably would have resulted in Xavier Johnson or Myles Rice forcing a pass in traffic and a turnover.

  11. Watching the pre-game on Fox... I want to puke seeing Ingram in the black/yellow stripes. The ONLY colors for candy stripes are Indiana's Cream and Crimson. Y'all can suck it, hawkeyes

  13. Gus, Please don’t listen to TTT. I want you to make every Fernando, Hemby etc play sound like the greatest in football history and describe the defense as the best ever!! So much better than two monotone dudes.

  16. Won by 10 against a team that Michigan beat 121-78 the other night. The media loves them so it won't happen, but there has to be somebody else that's more deserving of the top spot right now.

  18. Entire “Gameday” crew picked us to win and cover. That worries me. I think most picked Illinois against us, and all but McAfee picked Oregon against us.

  23. Still a little surreal to me that we're two touchdown-plus favorites over the Nits in Happy Valley, when we're 2-25 against them overall -- with both wins in B-town. This was the country's No. 2 preseason team. My former boss is a PSU grad and emailed me saying he thought the spread wasn't enough -- that he didn't think his boys could stay within 3 TDs of us. After nearly two-plus seasons of this wonderful football ride, I don't think skeptical is the right word. I wouldn't say I'm skeptical, but to used a hoary cliche -- I just don't like to count our chickens before they're hatched. So, while I'm expecting us to win -- if somehow we don't, it might not surprise me all that much. This is till Penn State and they'll still have a stadium full of 106,000 hostile fans.

  24. See everyone for the NCAA Tournament. IU will still host at least one game and maybe two, as they are right on the fringe of the top eight. The Big Ten Tourney has zero to do with NCAA seeding. In general, though, college soccer is not fun to watch right now. The talent drain and basically no defense across the board feels like watching the FIFA Video game instead of real soccer, with the amount of scoring and easy shots. While I love cheering for IU, watching the sport at the college level is painful. Either the sport needs to listen to the USA Soccer Federation and work with them to take their recommendations to get the top talent again, or fold up shop. Right now product is unbearable, and this is no fault of Indiana. They get the top talent of those making it to college, but that starts pretty far down the rankings.

  33. In an effort to provide joy and optimism, win or lose, I present the IUBB shot chart thread! Let's start with a baseline of the past; The last game of the Woodson era; a 72-59 loss to Oregon in the B1G tournament: AND NOW.... the first game of the Devries era, a 98-51 win over Alabama A&M: My, how things have changed.

  38. That was pretty rough. Not enough shooters on this team. Not enough scoring options. Maybe more Stotjin and definitely less Kadlecova. Beaumont has to stop lurching toward the rim on jump shots. Cziezki is outstanding, but she won’t do that often and better competition will focus on making someone else score. Caffey is really really good. She’s not really a scoring option, but she might need to become one sooner rather than later. Zania makes mistakes but she is so very talented. Makalusky was better tonight, but she does not move well at all. For me that was a discouraging watch, even with the shutdown defense in the second half.

  39. I really didn’t understand when some here downplayed Socka coming into the season. She’s a beast, and she and Ciezki play off each other with the long-range and inside game well

  43. Our current team with Reneau and Tucker would have such a higher ceiling. Bummer it wasn’t the vision. But new culture means something and you just never know how things would go. Reneau was always so underrated by Indiana fans. Similar to how TJD was treated until his breakout. Say for example, sub them for Ristic/Ancimovic. Oh well. We roll. Let’s see what happpens. Ristic might be something eventually. Idk. Maybe DeVries will eventually “Moren” me. With IUWBB I’m a “Trust in Moren”. I haven’t been that way with an Indiana basketball coach ever in my adult lifetime. I want that kinda faith back.

  44. The list of guys who left and were productive in other programs is long. Guys like Banks and Bates are good examples. Woodson was a horrible coach who stifled the development of many young men. But he did pay them well.

  45. I've never been impressed by a PSU noon crowd to begin with, let alone with how their year has gone. If it's not a whiteout (which...no one seems to talk about how they're just above .500 in those) that place isn't very menacing. The thing that concerns me at PSU is wind. It's an absolute wind tunnel in there, but the forecast isn't calling for much.
